Enclosed is the final chapter of the fourth and final segment on the expose of Michael Sullivant and PVBC, and this one goes into another area outside of doctrine and Scripture perversion, where we move from false teacher to autocratic tyrant. We will cover this one subject followed by a summary:

Here are Part 1a, Part 1b, Part 2, and Part 3 (by clicking on those links), where we cover the subjects of Sullivant's and PVBC's corruption of the gospel/salvation, sanctification, other doctrine, and perversion of Scripture, along with unBiblical associations. We also did an early feedback report based upon the first two parts, titled: The State of Independent Baptists in Canada, Based Upon Feedback from the Michael Sullivant Report.
Just to reiterate, we have no bone to pick or axe to grind with Pastor Sullivant. He’s never done us any personal harm, but he has however harmed the mindsets and beliefs and lives of people we know, and many we don't know. That’s not even our primary motivation, though it could be, in exposing him, but more importantly, to expose the harm he has brought to the cause of Christ and the furtherance of the kingdom of God, and the false doctrine and false practice that is being purveyed by many IFB churches with him largely at the helm of some of that in Canada, damage that goes beyond the temporal and into the eternal. This results in the damnation of souls in the eternal lake of fire, Sullivant—the snake-oil salesman indoctrinated into Hylesology—responsible for who knows how many made into two-fold children of hell, and the obvious danger of that couldn't be overemphasized.
Lastly, before beginning this final segment, to expose Sullivant' and PVBC's dangerous errors and heresies isn’t persecution. They shouldn't fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that they are persecuted whenever they are contradicted. It's the Bible that contradicts them. Men like Michael Sullivant do not get persecuted because they preach the truth and stand against the wiles of the devil, and thus create enemies -- they have no enemies, besides those they have wronged within the church. Even the world speaks well of them.
But they utterly hate what we are doing. We have been called nearly everything under the sun by Sullivant and his loyal coattail riders and henchmen across Canada and America. We have found it to be true, those who don’t go along lock-step with the status quo and then question or criticize preachings of perversion of the Gospel or other doctrine, or false hermeneutics, will be labelled as mean-spirited, sowers of discord, divisive, firebrands, proud, judgmental, meddlers, majoring-on-minors, theological cowboys, hobby horse riders, touching the Lord's anointed, deceitful, Satan's emissary, pernicious, and ultimately as enemies of the church. And this we have received, but bold-hearted contenders of the faith are always labelled everything under the sun, by cowards who shrink from disagreeable truths that save souls, noted even in Scripture. These pithy but unBiblical and wrongheaded sayings are used in IFB circles to malign any warnings that are given in regard to the compromise and error of influential Baptist leaders. Such unscriptural and ungodly marginalizing and slandering will continue on unabated if people don't say anything and don’t do something about it, though we know God’s eyes aren’t hidden from the abominable behaviour, who will reward them in due time.
And therein we find a further purpose for our expose and followup. We are doing something about it. To stop the loathsome process and bring accountability. To shut the mouths of heretics and false teachers (Ti 1:11-16; 3:10-11). The Bible does not encourage enabling corruptness. Sometimes we have to answer fools according to their folly (Pr 26:5). Sometimes even with ridicule, as Thomas Jefferson once said, “Ridicule may be the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible ideas.” Nothing is as unintelligible as the false gospel and Keswick-laced sanctification heresy that men like Sullivant and many other IFB preachers across Canada fill their listeners ears with, bringing the unregenerate into deeper unregeneracy and delusion, making many two-fold children of hell through their repentant-less, Lord-less, easy-believism and quick-prayerism proselytization. The compromise and toleration of false teachings at PVBC and so many churches like it, and the scripted character assassination has greatly motivated us for this warfare.
"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." (Pr 28:1)
“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” (Gal 4:16)
7. Sullivant’s Man-Centeredness, Duplicity, Ruling Over the Flock Like a Lord and Tyrant, and Pastoral Disqualifying Actions.
How did PVBC become a mega-church?
The church of Pembina Valley Baptist has gotten to be where it is for a number of reasons:
There is a prodigy of Jack Hyles behind the helm, driven by selfish glory, power, money and bigness, just like his mentor, one very likely a false teacher, like his mentor. He understands how to build an empire and maintain it, educated by the wolf himself.
Accepting flimsy, vague, unscriptural testimonies as "salvation." These are false professing “believers,” the simple minded (which are always unsaved people - Pr 1:20-25; Ps 19:7; etc), the corrupt fruit of a corrupt tree (Matt. 7:15-20), their hearts duped by the "good words and fair speeches" (Rom 16:18) of Sullivant.
Watered down, anemic, false gospel preached by Sullivant and his disciples, his "yes" men-water boys.
Serious perversion and corruption of sanctification, which keeps many people in bondage to their sin and false professions (even some of the leadership themselves we suspect). This is huge and preserves the bigness and power and flow of money.
The cult-like man-controlling, guilt tactics, manipulation and subtle fear-mongering and duplicity of Sullivant the Tyrant.
No-accountability, that is, he's accountable only to himself, thus acts largely with impunity. Church members are conditioned to not question the man of God’s behaviour, out of fear of God’s judgment if they do, and the preaching is focused around this fear-mongering tactic.
He has taken the role of an autocrat, while rejecting congregational authority which is as Biblically demanded as pastoral authority (e.g. Matt 18:15-17; 1 Cor 5; 6:1-6; etc, literally found everywhere in all of the church epistles, in many more passages than anything to do with pastoral authority).
The lying, manipulation, covering-up, slandering, deceiving, marginalizing, ostracizing, and lying; the last to be more than the first.
Developing a man-centered system that protects his office from banishment.
Government registered and accredited.
These things, and others, have built him a big church and kept the mostly-lost members in bondage to the system. Bravo, Führer Sullivant. The stars are aligning for you. The blight of Jack Hyles, the poster boy for the corrupted fundamentalist element of the Independent Baptists, continues through men like Sullivant. He continues many of the same cultic patterns and ungodly methods, with the objective of building a legacy, an empire, an earthly kingdom, and nothing will stop that process. He's a real friendly and jolly fellow as long as you follow lock-step. The moment you step out of pace, into disagreement or dissent of some sort, testing, judging and criticizing, you are literally doomed. He even likes to give gifts, but he never gives gifts without strings attached, sort of like Henry Ford who would give cars to favourite employees until they weren't his favourite anymore, at which point he would take back his cars. Sullivant's "gifts," like Ford's, weren't actually "gifts" but loans, which he's quick to call in as soon as someone sees right through him and wants to leave. There's no such thing as charity with him; he sees any help the church has given you as the price of your soul. But he is the "pastor."
What Sullivant is doing is merely applying to his ministry what he learned at Hyles-Anderson College so many years ago, according to his own words:
“You know, what we’ve done is go out and try to do what we were taught [at Hyles-Anderson]. Once thing I was mentioning in Church-ed class yesterday, I still believe the things I believed when I came to school here and it was re-enforced while I was here.” (Keeping from Backsliding, Hyles-Anderson college, time 02:25).
Yes, we believe it. The facts speaks for themselves. Sullivant and PVBC are continuing the exact same false gospel and methods of "evangelism," corruption of sanctification and other doctrine, horrible perversion and wresting of Scripture, and abusive/oppressive teaching that he learned and was taught by Hyles, and Hyles-loyal staff at Hyles-Anderson College, where Hyles almost carries god-like status for the students, a place where they have erected a statue in his honour on the campus grounds, all of which reeks of horrible idolatry. Even Hyles would be impressed by his loyalty and his exerting unquestioning loyalty upon the congregation he lords over. Undoubtedly Sullivant would have worn his "100% for Hyles" pin proudly.
Man-Centered Institution Using Man-Centred Ways
👉🏻 Pembina Valley Baptist Church (PVBC) and its school, Canadian Baptist Bible College (CBBC), has accredited charitable donation status with the Canadian government, one of which purposes is to provide tax receipts for donations ("tithing," "giving," "FPMG"). This means the church and school are registered with the Canadian government. We are curious as to how they can justify that in the Word of God. How hard must they work to make the Scriptures agree with the compromised, man-centred practices? The giving of Tax receipts is another symptom of the man-centred corruption of churches like PVBC. But it's a very effective way to keep the coffers flowing, people giving for ulterior motives, regardless how terribly unscriptural it is.
👉🏻 CBBC is governed by a College Board as elected by the Deacon Board of PVBC. And PVBC itself is governed by that same Deacon Board of PVBC.
Where is this found in Scripture? The Bible gives no authority to deacons or a group of deacons. No church is to be run by a deacon board, or trustees, or a denominational hierarchy. Nowhere does the Bible speak of “deacons who rule well,” because deacons are not rulers. But they are at PVBC (on paper at least, though in reality they have little authority over the despot. Not only do they have an unscriptural board of authority, the pastor itself has taken upon himself unscriptural authority, ruling the church as an autocrat, and rejecting congregational authority, which has equal authority in the local church with pastoral authority. PVBC is transgressing against God's Word in multiple areas concerning this matter.
👉🏻 During Covid, the Canadian tyrannical communist government forced everyone to shutdown their churches, to stop gathering, stop singing, stop preaching. The government used the plan/scamdemic to shut down and threaten churches. Sullivant and the PVBC deacon board complied, ruled by the fear of man and government, exercising obedience to the government over God and His Word. They almost had no choice as it appears, since PVBC is a government registered entity. But Sullivant did have a choice, long time ago, and he chose Caesar.
👉🏻 Who gets to be an evangelist/missionary or pastor/elder at PVBC or within their circles? Not necessarily the one that has the desire (1 Tim 3:1) and meets the requirements (1 Tim 3; Ti 1), which is the actual Biblical test for pastorship, but rather who is approved by the man-centered, despotic Mike Sullivant. Once approved by Führer Sullivant, the chosen one is put through five years of indoctrination at the College of PVBC, followed by deputation, where the chosen one has to transverse the continent with his wife and kids in tow, begging churches for support for his lucrative job as missionary/pastor, which will take a minimum of two years, but even three, or four, or five, even seven years, settling his finances for the next umpteen years! It sounds crazy but thats the system and only if you are a chosen one, which is typically one that brown-noses daily mannerism par excellence; carries his Bible high on his waist; speaks with the voice of an angel; makes a great impression before Dr. Big Shot Sullivant that even he be dazzled; one whose preaching is sprinkled generously with a variety of superlatives, like “most” and “best” and “greatest,” makes the great calls for the carnal pew warmers to crawl the sawdust trail to the mourners bench with elevator music in the background urging them on; never preaches from those texts that not everyone agrees with; carries a quote book with him at all times; doesn't neglect name droppings -- “ole’ Dr. Bob and Dr. Hyles used to say ‘do right ’til the stars fall'”; illustrates all the poses and pauses at appropriate places in his preaching, so the audience has a chance to “Amen!” him (and when the audience is a but slow, he offers a few subtle insults that ‘primes the pump’ a little, what ole Führer Dr. Hyles was so proficient at); always preaches out of a large Bible with many markings all over it and demonstrates good technique in chucking it across the stage and pounding it on the pulpit and waving it in the air and beating people over the head with it, because practice makes perfect and perfect practice makes even more perfect, and Sullivant will just be tickled pink, "If you will!" This man is well on his way to becoming a Dr. Big Shot, a Sullivant mini-me.
👉🏻 Using secular legal threats as a means of attempting to shut the mouths of their critics. This one is unbelievably rich. Mike Sullivant's oldest daughter was threatened with legal action over exposing her father and the church on an online blog. The story starts though years prior to this. In the late 1990's was shunned and thrown out of their home because she would not cease a relationship with a boy from another church that they didn't approve of. Since that time, which occurred in 1998, she has been estranged from her family, her parents, and her siblings. There were clear issues on both sides of this, Laura running away because she was afraid of her father, and her father screaming and threatening her, telling she would never succeed in life, and then praying over her that she would die. The entire saga is very sad and disgraceful and reeks of serious pride and a bankruptcy of humility. She recounts the conclusion as follows:
"It has been said, that I 'chose the way of the transgressor' My father put his finger in my face and told me I "Had to make a choice, either you choose God's way(which is to obey your mother and I and our authority over you and honor our decisions for you), or you choose the way of the transgressor!" When I told him that I could NOT make that choice because I thought that what he was doing wasn't right, he yelled at me again and said "you HAVE to make your choice!!" Through my tears, I looked him in the eye and said, "I guess I choose the way of the transgressor."He LOVED that! He told me that I would now have NO place to go, and not to call any of the other pastors in the area for help because he would just tell them that I had chosen the way of the transgressor and that was that." (source)
What followed was a disowning and public character assassination by Sullivant of his own daughter, and that before the entire congregation of PVBC, backed by out-right lies and deceit, that even the world would consider wrong and disingenuous. He lied by the truck loads, spinning the account to suit his fancy. All of this is wicked beyond words. His pastoral office held a greater importance to him than his own flesh and blood! Lying became so common to Sullivant, it almost became second nature, but God's Word has the final say on the matter, condemning him as an abomination (Pr 12:22) and unsaved hypocrite:
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Rev 21:8, 27; see also 1 Tim 1:10)
Then iIn 2011 she started the online blog Laura Sullivant - My Life Unchained, where she chronicles what happened at that time, and then continued on with the blog about her life thereafter, to this day, a means of giving her siblings an opportunity to know about her and her family (as stated somewhere on her blog). There appear to perhaps have been issues of rebellion and neo-evangelical/worldly philosophy at the time in her though not entirely sure (albeit she has a stable home and family at the present as far as one can tell, though she definitely has gone in a ungodly, neo-evangelical/emergent church direction), but even here Mike Sullivant is to be blamed. His tyrannical autocracy extends to the home, where he rules with a rod of iron, and puts strange demands on his children, such as demanding life insurance on his daughters to give their hand in marriage, and the inability to call off an engagement. And then there's the false gospel. Yes the perverted and corrupted false Hyles-gospel that has very likely led to an entire family of false professing unregenerates (along with a church family of mostly unregenerates). We cannot imagine the pressure that was exerted upon the children of this home, to pray a prayer, to make a profession, to keep inline (regardless of the fakeness, and there is a LOT of fakeness in these type of environments) so that big daddy can tick off the box "saved," and gets to keep his job. Well he shouldn't have kept his office after this massive issue happened with his daughter, something we will cover further below.
Man-centred "Christian" institutions threaten legal action if you expose them. You know you are dealing with an absolute autocratic heretic and grifter when they resort to this lowlife, lowball tactic of the wicked world. You also know you are hitting the spot. Laura Sullivant writes in April 2011 that she got a phone call from someone in leadership at PVBC who told her that "if they did not see a "marked change in your blog" they had grounds to sue me for "in-sighting hatred."" He backed that threat up with an additional scoundrel threat indicating they had the financial means to go to court: "as I'm sure you are aware, we have several business men that attend the church." Obviously this threat about suing is hocus pocus lies and is simply a tactic to censor and shut down dissent, precisely what the wicked leftist woke tyrants are doing in western nations, which is of no surprise when we note that ungodly churches of charlatans led by hirelings are exemplifying this very behaviour, the means whereby God judges nations.
This is certainly not unusual in these environments when the empires of these man-centered dictators are being threatened. When we exposed the late Gordon Conner in May of 2022 (he passed away in October of 2024), he threatened us with legal action as well and threats of exposure to his group of 400 IFB pastor friends. We informed him that puny legal threats did not hinder our work even for a moment, and only stoked the fire in our bones (Jer 20:9), and that we felt certain kinship with Elijah in going up against 400 prophets of Baal.
These, and many more ways, some of which have been documented in other areas of this report, are all symptoms of a malignant man-centered institution.
Name Dropping and Man-Praising -- A Revered and Sacred Activity at PVBC
Many, many times this occurs at PVBC and by the preachers of this institution, much too often to all mention, though we have made some references throughout this four-part report. The repugnant behaviour is especially noted in young preachers who are desperately attempting to make a good impression with Sullivant. For instance the testimonies of salvation of Ryan Doerksen and Trenton Klassen given on Oct 20, 2019 where they could hardly finish a sentence without praising some man, especially the Führer Sullivant, and Sullivant of course leads by example—where the bad behaviour is learnt—and he in turn was taught this despicable behaviour by his Master Hyles, as noted in his sermons in 2019 at Hyles-Anderson College referenced in Part 1a (which appear to have been scrubbed off the internet since our exposé, but found in the Wayback Machine of Internet Archives).
When man-centred tail-coat riding preachers and water boys drop names and praise names, they prove real fast that the glory they pursue is not actually God's glory, but man's glory -- their own and other men. Its a means of puffing up self-importance, as if attempting to attain celebrity status in their stagnant little cultural puddle (expressed frequently by Sullivant, as noted in the sermon “Church of Laodicea” referenced above). We know its not inherently wrong to name preachers, as noted in Scripture with the apostle Peter speaking of the wisdom of his dearly beloved brother Paul (2 Pet 3:15-16), but Peter's praise was not any thing like the carnal man-worship one hears in these man-centred churches, who lavishly praise mere mortals for the wrong reasons and in the wrong manner, and men that often are deeply compromised and even heretical. Name dropping is the name of the game, in the world of pagan, materialistic, hedonistic, sensual, and rationalistic culture, and likewise heretical churches. Giving praise to men is a very subtle form of hero worship and thus idolatry, and it dovetails with all the other man-centered elements of these churches. Does God need the endorsement of a megachurch guru or some super snake-oil slime-ball salesman soul-winner (such as Hyles or Sullivant, or Bob Gray, or Curtis Hutson, etc, etc), all of which are heretics and very likely unregenerate men? Why do these heretical man-centered churches such as PVBC love the praise of man so much? Could it be because they are in fact spiritual reprobates, who"resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith" (2 Tim 3:8)?
Well, that is why we do what we do: "But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was." (2 Tim 3:9). "Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." (Ti 1:11). The truth shall be brought to light. It won't be kept hidden under a bed, for keeping quiet is enabling the abusers.
God has spoken ever so clearly on the subject of who is worthy to be worshipped. It doesn’t really matter whose signature is at the bottom of your Bible college diploma, or whose endorsement is on the back of your book, or who the man is in the pulpit. What has eternal value is whether firstly we are actually genuinely born again, and secondly, whether we were faithful servants of Christ, humbly living and preaching for his glory and praise, which is the work of those that are genuinely born again,
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Gal 1:10)
True born again believers worship God in spirit and in truth, not man in pompous praise or fables:
"God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." (Jn 4:24)
"I am the LORD, that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." (Is 42:8)
See also Is 48:11 and Ps. 115:1. The Lord asks in Jn 5:44,
"How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?"
All their glorying in man, craving for recognition, for praise, for honour and glory, is idolatrous and an abomination in the sight of God.
Above Reproof, Rebuke, Criticism, Admonishment and Correction.
Sullivant has a non-approachable attitude when it comes to complaints and criticisms against him. He appears to have little respect for Biblical authority or congregational authority (which is also biblical authority). He seems to be his own authority, which is gross misuse of an authoritative position like pastor. This is further noted in his lack of respect for the words in God's Word, often preaching something entirely different than what text is saying and means, promoting false doctrine, interpreting via eisegesis (the method of the unregenerate Spirit-less fakes), living something other other then what the new birth expects and the Bible demands, all of which is contrary to Gods Word as judged by His Word. When confronted over things allowed in the church that are clearly against God's Word, he refuses to hear what Scripture says, and though he likely knows it's wrong, allows it anyway. It's this egotistical and narcissistic attitude that has led to Mike's dirty laundry being hung out for everybody to see. We hope he is starting to feel what everybody else feels that is slandered from the pulpit by him and his brown shirt cronies. His "brave" and "valiant" exposé (and about the only thing this "brave" man can expose from the pulpit) of peoples private matters takes a real man, right there Führer Sullivant? Since when is a persons private matters the business of a church? It is, if you are a tyrant.
He will not receive criticism, reproof or rebuke, and those that attempt, he will ultimately destroy. He will twist the accounts of what is occurring, mix lies with some truth, and then outright bear false witness as to why the other side refuses to meet with him. This is beyond a lord over the people; this is the earmark of a tyrant. He is everything that Jam 3:13-18 speaks of concerning an unsaved man, entirely contrary to the one that has wisdom, the saved man:
"Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace." (Jam 3:13-18)
Sullivant is not easy to be entreated, but nigh impossible to entreat. He is not peaceable or gentle or without partiality, and without hypocrisy. In fact, almost everything he does is by partiality and hypocrisy. According to Scripture, Sullivant is unwise, despises his own soul, and doesn't fear the Lord:
“The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.” (Pr 15:31-33)
Pr. 22:3,
“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
The simple by the way, are unsaved gullible people (see Ps. 19:7; 119:130; Pr. 1:22; 8:5; 9:4; 14:15, 18; Rom. 16:18; etc), the type of people that fill many of Sullivant's Pembina Valley Baptist Church pews (people who we do not have any issue with per se, only that they have been deceived by Sullivant and are enabling his tyrannical reign).
For reproving and exposing them, for sounding the alarm, we have been called "Satans little puppet" and a "fool of fools" and a "sad pathetic individual" whose "life so must be hell on earth" and his "mind so twisted and deranged.” This is the type of response you might expect from the world, but from professing "Christians," especially those that carry themselves in a high and lofty pious manner?? They get filled with rage and wrath when confronted over the error and sin in their midst, which is often tied to hypocrisy and sin, a form of ungodly anger reflecting an unsaved, unregenerate heretic:
“An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.” (Pr 29:22).
“But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” (Matt 5:22).
👉🏻 There is the incident with his daughter 25 years ago, which was also pastoral office disqualifying. Instead of stepping down, Sullivant lied, lied and more lied, and then chose his position in the church over reconciliation with his daughter. The way he pridefully dealt with his daughter and continues to, is evil and ungodly. He should’ve been removed from his position back in the day already according to 1 Tim 3:4-5, whether he was right or wrong in the matter, since he cannot rule his own house. Over the years he has governed PVBC in the same fashion, and thus why he should not be take care of the church of God. Shame on PVBC for allowing the continual reign of a disqualified man, but they are reaping what they have sown.
"One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)” (1 Tim 3:4-5)
Sullivant of course knows this but applies it in partiality, and transgresses the Biblical command. What Mike Sullivant did to his own daughter is ungodly and despicable and evil. We wouldn't even need to know both sides of the story to know what he did was wrong. But he is a man of God, riggght?! He has no business being behind a pulpit, since he cannot govern his own family (1 Tim. 3:4-5). And then he (and the others that do his dirty work, his henchmen, his "yes" men, his water boys and tailcoats) demonizes her and others that have dared go against his ungodly authority from the pulpit, using the pulpit as a platform.
Truth be told, we would very likely never hear Sullivant's side of the story even if given that opportunity, and it’s for good reason. He is a blatant and pathological liar. He lies, lies and more lies, and thus NOTHING he says can be trusted to be truthful. So anything he says about the people that have left the church is twisted to favour his position, including his own daughter. But he doesn’t only lie about things that affect him and his ministry, he also lies about God, the Gospel, Soteriology, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God and the words found in the Word of God in general. He lies about these critical matters of immeasurable importance so much, he doesn’t know whether he is coming or going. And if he lies about these incomparable matters of eternal worth, he would certainly lie about earthly things that favour his position.
Sullivant accused his daughter Laura of rebellion. Though this may be partially true, how he handled this situation is unbiblical and ungodly. Furthermore, though he condemns his daughter's rebellion (if she was indeed rebellious--maybe she was scared for her life), PVBC is comprised of a large number of people who openly rebelled against their preceding churches, yet whom he welcomed with open arms. Isn't that hypocrisy? Where in Scripture is any rebellion allowed? Did Sullivant ask these people to make things right with the churches they came out of? Not even maybe. Even if Laura fulfilled all of her father's wishes for reconciliation, what difference would it make? She is merely one of hundreds he has rode roughshod.
If Mike Sullivant has no issue destroying his own family to maintain control of his throne, empire and kingdom, what do you think he would do to other families? Right, and that is precisely what he has done to countless families, some of which we know personally, and others we don't, breaking many family relationships. He has become notorious for destroying families.
👉🏻 One individual from PVBC, considered a youth pastor at PVBC at one time (a position that shouldn't even exist in any Biblical church) was Pete Reimer who tells his story of his personal dealings with Mike Sullivant over a span of a number years, which is one of abuse, manipulation, lying, deception, false accusations, slandering, did I say lying, and intentional destruction of peoples lives, but its not just his own either, all of which eventually led to dissociation from PVBC. It is so repulsive and disgusting, it on its own proves without any shadow of doubt that Sullivant is just like Hyles in all his ways, including his lost estate. Were he actually saved, God would’ve chastised him many moons ago already, considering his partaking of the Lord’s communion unworthily while steeped in sin, for at least a decade now (1 Cor. 11:28-32). The pastor is not in his own class somewhere above the cattle class. He is not on any type of pedestal. Hew down the pedestal, in the same fashion as the Lords axe is laid to the root of these pastors tree (Lk 3:9). Wicked dictator men who love the preeminence of men, the power and the glory, such as Sullivant and many other IFB men in Canada, America and other places, are behaving just like one Diotrephes, who was an exemplar of heresy, sowing seeds of apostasy (3 Jn 1:9-11). He was an evil man John says, and exhorted Gaius to flee from him.
“I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.” (3 Jn 1:9-10)
Besides everything written here, a sordid history well familiar to many, in one sentence alone Sullivant reveals himself to be a Diotrephes: “If you have a problem with this church, you have a problem with Christ!” Wow, how arrogant and full or self, a man with a serious control and power complex problem.
Sullivant wants unconditional subordination to what he says and does, but no one should be subordinate to false practices, sin, man-centered and tyrannical ruling, and faulty interpretations of religious false teachers. No one. It certainly wasn't expected in the first century NT church, and it shouldn't be expected in the 21st century NT church. Pete Reimer surely wasn’t. He wouldn't be quiet over what he witnessed, as he came to the defence of Laura Sullivant (among many other issues according to what he has written). This is a rough version of his account, and we are only repeating what we have read and have no absolute certainties concerning its veracity, though we believe it to be entirely true and verified by many others (some of which was given at a meeting after their removal from PVBC). In spite of following God’s Word precisely when confronting Sullivant over several serious concerns that he had noticed and witnessed as one close to him, even wisely taking two pastors with him, men of godly and honest reputation (pastor and college professor Alan Brooks and the late pastor Raymond Dell, former president of Sullivant's very own Canadian Baptist Bible College), Sullivant, rather than hearing him, turned to people in the church and accused Reimer of lying, slandering, and bad mouthing other members of the church, and told everyone that he was living in sin and not to associate with him any longer (in the same fashion as he did with his own daughter). This is the repulsive, wicked and despicable behaviour that we are exposing Sullivant to represent, but it should be absolutely unbeknownst to any pastor. The lack of respect and dignity he showed these men is absolutely disgusting and ungodly, and once again a pastoral office disqualifier (i.e., not "blameless," not "of good behaviour," not "apt to teach," not "not soon angry," not "not selfwilled," not a "lover of good men"). The Bible also calls it bearing false witness, among other things, the same thing the wicked religious Pharisees did to Jesus. Reimer described pastor Brooks as one "loved by many and he is known for his wisdom, honesty, dignity, great preaching and love for the Lord's work." He would bring witnesses and hard proof to their meetings to substantiate the concerns only to have them torn up and thrown in the trash or warned that if the witnesses were to speak, they would have to leave the meetings. It gets worse. Not only did Sullivant defame, discredit and destroy Reimer, he did the same to pastor Brooks and pastor Dell, showing no respect and dignity towards either, terribly disrespecting them and slandering them, men which were older than him. Mike Sullivant in fact destroyed the life of Brooks and their ministry in Winnipeg (Berean Baptist Church). He lied about pastor Dell (an honest and respectful man with a good track record, well respected and appreciated in Canada, USA and world wide, and again previous president of CBBC, who is described by Reimer as one with "years of experience in the ministry as a pastor, church planter, college professor, music teacher, Sunday school teacher" who "has sacrificed his life to do the work of God," exemplified by the giving "of his time, experience, knowledge, finances, resources, and everything else that was in him to give"). Sullivant abused and discredited pastor Dell, falsely accusing him of many things, and ruining his ministry. He lied about Pete Reimer and discredited him to the entire church, also ruining his ministry. All for one simple but very important reason: so that the truth wouldn't get out. Tyrants of every kind always have this in common: discrediting of those who speak the truth and expose their lies. What Sullivant is doing is very little different than the evil woke leftists of our day, or that of the most evil dictators in human history, Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, and so forth, only on a smaller scale. How is he any different than some of the evil antichrist Popes who destroyed their entire families, sometimes for the same reasons? Sullivant did the very same to his daughter Laura, and many others. Jn 10:10a describes the destroyer in this fashion:
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:"
Who does this?? Who lies between his teeth besides someone who is full of hate, self-preservation, malice and destruction?! If we had no other proof of the heresy and wickedness of Mike Sullivant, or any other word of warning to flee from this Hyles-protege heretic, this would be sufficient.
All three men were vilified as being in error, liars and living in sin by Sullivant. How could it possible that all three of these individuals, all three being full-time in ministry with a godly reputable testimony, all be wrong, all be lying, all be living in sin? This was Sullivant’s despicable and deceptive method to destroy their testimony and discredit them so that no one would approach them to hear the truth behind what was going on for all those years. Talk about evil behaviour, even unheard of among the Gentiles. Considering these things and what he has done to these men, it’s really not difficult to see Mike Sullivant’s true identity. Pastor Dell strongly believed that Sullivant was unsaved. How could he not, considering how Sullivant would blatantly and bald-facely lie on top of lies and deceptively hide the truth. Pete Reimer tells of a meeting he had with Dell after Dell had attended a meeting with Sullivant and his daughter Laura in the USA, over the issues between father and daughter:
“Then Dr. Dell proceeded to tell me everything that took place during this entire trip and meeting. He told me that he felt that it was important for me to know what really happened. After he finished telling me the truth to what actually happened he said, "Pete, I never thought I'd ever say this, but pastor Michael Sullivant is the biggest liar, deceiver and manipulator that I have ever seen in all my years of being in the ministry. He has lied about everything and has asked me to do the same regarding Laura."
He also told Reimer, that after witnessing what he had during this meeting, he would honestly question Sullivant’s salvation profession.
"He also told me, that after witnessing what he had during this meeting, he would honestly question PMS's salvation. He couldn't believe how a saved man pastoring a church could go on and lie about the things he did and use one lie to hide behind another lie.” (source).
Why would Sullivant lie repeatedly and heap more lies on top of those lies? Why would he discredit and disrespect men and falsely accuse them and marginalize them and then seek to destroy them? Why is this so common in Hyles circles, who was an absolute master at this evil behaviour? Everything he did was so that the truth wouldn't be revealed and he wouldn’t lose his position. It was all self-serving and self-preservation, and he didn’t care how many he had to take down in the process to keep it like that. And consider this, mister or mrs follower of tyrants like Mike Sullivant, if a man such as Sullivant won't listen to his own elders/pastors, professors, presidents, or other pastors (or even parents!), why and how on earth would he listen to you?? He wouldn't. You are absolutely deluded. His arrogance, pride, and self-preservation mode would prevent any leverage or reproof, or correction of any kind, and thats a proven fact by way too many. For this man, and many others that faithfully follow him, the scriptures are not "profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2 Tim 3:16) and thus this so-called "man of God" is never made "perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Tim 3:17). Mike Sullivant should give careful heed to what Rev 21:8 warns,
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
There are websites/blogs dedicated to the purpose of exposing Mike Sullivant and PVBC, such as this one and this one, and though some of people that despise Sullivant and PVBC undoubtedly have a bone to pick with him or trouble makers seeking to justify their subordination, spite for authority, open rebellion against God while hiding behind a veneer of piety and platitudes, there are also legitimate voices and real concerns. Some have refused to blindly follow the blind, and for speaking out and confronting error and sin and lies and hypocrisy, they are ostracized, slandered, and raked over the coals by Sullivant.

👉🏻 One of Michael Sullivant’s faithful and blind disciples, John Rempel pastored a PVBC satellite church in Brownsville, Ontario, Mission Baptist Church, which is by now defunct. Similar horror stories protrude from those that attended this institution, but unsurprising seeing Rempel's allegiance to Sullivant. For his valiant efforts and faithfulness to the Chief Führer, he is now on faculty at Sullivant's college.
👉🏻 Many of the people at PVBC are fully aware of these problems and for years, but are also well aware if they will speak out against Sullivant, he will do the same to them as he has done to many other innocent people. Some are in so deep that they think their lives would be destroyed if they spoke the truth. But many people who attend PVBC at the present haven't got the slightest clue what has and continues to go on behind closed doors.
Yet in spite of these difficulties, many have exposed Sullivant's serious problems of dishonesty, blatant lying, duplicity and tyranny. Individuals such as Travis Peters, Fred Harder, Vic and Melanie Wiens, Pete and Connie Reimer, etc, etc. Many more that we do not know, and many more could easily follow in these footsteps. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know there is no way hundreds of people could all be wrong about one man.
It shouldn't come as any shock that there's been a high turnover of staff at PVBC over the years. One person here (Anonymous "April 26, 2011 at 8:57 a.m.") testified that at this point in 2011, 4 staff members had been church disciplined, 4 of the original 5 deacons had chosen to step down, 3 had left all together, and at least 7 people had been church disciplined, apparently for reasons the Bible never mentions according to this commentator. The question is asked how people in leadership just disappear and nobody thinks twice? This person testifies to "know personally over 50 members who have left, I'm sure there are many more that I don't know of and I know several who have left in the past month."
Mike Sullivant will not receive criticism and those that attempt, are destroyed. Many have tried to hold Sullivant accountable to God's Word, and for that they have been abused, manipulated, lied about, deceived, falsely accused, slandered, and destroyed. It is so repulsive and disgusting, it on its own proves that Sullivant is just like Hyles in all his ways, including his lost estate. Were he actually saved, God would’ve chastised him many moons ago already, considering his partaking of the Lord’s communion unworthily while steeped in sin, for at least a decade now (1 Cor 11:28-32).
Meanwhile, Ac 17:11 still records that it is noble to search the Scriptures to check and see if what the preacher is saying is so. To hold their feet to the fire. We do not trust any man or movement that refuses to deal Scripturally with criticism. No man, ministry, or movement is above Ac 17:11, 1 Th 5:21, 1 Cor 10:15, Jn 7:24, or Lk 12:57, etc. But Sullivant thinks he is and that is reason enough to flee from him.
The Lust for Power, Control and Filthy Lucre
👉🏻 Have you ever considered why the rich elite of society, the billionaires and multi millionaires and so forth, do not just go into retirement and relax for whatsoever remains of their life and enjoy their riches and not be caught up in the rat race of politics, globalism, work, daily struggles, etc? Well this is the very reason why: The Lust for Power and Control. To be rich is one thing, their lust of filthy lucre satisfied, but to have power and control is everything. Satan knows this, which is why he attempts to sell the world to to the world, as noted in his temptations of Christ:
"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (Matt 4:8-10)
This is almost always the ultimate goal. And the more power, the better. And Satan is ready to offer it to them, if only they will give their allegiance to him. This is at least how the ungodly Gentiles of the world think, exposed by God the Son Himself:
“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;” (Matt 20:25-26)
“But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:” (Mk 10:42-43)
“And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.” (Lk 22:25-26)
This is a huge problem in Christendom today, including among the IFB, and especially at PVBC. I don’t think that most IFB churches are really independent. They just say they are, but they function within a system that is almost as denominational as the Southern Baptist Convention, and this is most IFB’s. What was first stated many years ago by Lord Acton, has become absolutely true in many churches across the land: "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
The authority problem over the years has become a predictable one: no amount of power satisfies until it is absolute. With the diminishing of accountability that autocracy brings, the human nature at our core sheds all forms of personal and moral restraint, though careful deception, threats and dictatorship, prevents many of these issues from coming to light, or at least full light.
What Jack Hyles, Jack Schaap, Clarence Sexton, Bob Gray Sr. (and others just like them) taught Mike Sullivant was entitlement to executive privilege, and that required the lowly pew-warmers to check their discernment, their biblical standards of righteousness and their common sense at the church-house door. Almost everything that Sullivant does comes with an ulterior motive: the craving of power! But we shouldn't be shocked by any of this, knowing who his master and mentor was. Jack Hyles himself stated repeatedly, too many times to count, that the prayer he prayed the most was "God give me power." He had a seemingly insatiable desire for power, authority and control, and Mike Sullivant and many, many more graduates of Hyles-Anderson have followed in those exact same footsteps.
👉🏻 We mention the following account in another report on The Sword of the Lord, Part 2: Man-Centred Revivalist Ministry that Peddles a Perverted Gospel and False Doctrine, Exemplified by Tom Wallace, Michael Sullivant, and Most Revivalist IFB Churches, based upon the sermon "Church of Laodicea (Rev. 3)," Michael Sullivant, D.D., expressed his love for titles, positions, popularity, and glory, giving a hypothetical scenario where the Prime Minister of Canada calls you and then takes you off to lunch in his sleazy limo, which would allegedly result in you calling all the big newspapers and TV stations to tell them how great you are. His words: “boy I’m someone,” “hey look see what’s happening to me,” you want "your pictures taken because you’re someone now," “we’d be eaten it up.” He not only didn't rhetorically criticize what he was saying, but gleefully relished in this possibility, which on its own was bad and unscriptural and sinful enough, but to make matters worse, this was stated during the time Canada's PM was the very evil and genocidal, communist, marxist, Christ-hating Justin Castro. Undoubtedly this reflects the very characteristic of a man who loves fame and glory and power, and flattering titles goes right with that. He is also a respecter of persons, which further disqualifies him from his office (Jam 2). It also reflects the nature of one who would tranagress for a piece of bread, like Esau."To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress." (Pr 28:21). As one who has personally been at the service of many of the "great men of the world," they are but men. You give respect and honour to them "of reputation," (Gal 2:2), but there is nothing more special about them than the lowest peasant in the world.
"I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit." (Eccl 1:14)
👉🏻 His history with his oldest daughter, Laura, reflects a man who craves power and control, and when he feels it slipping through his fingers, he loses his own bowels. Yelling and screaming out of control, not only to his daughter but to his own parents just because they refuse to shun their grand-daughter, and wishing his own daughter dead because he cannot control her like he does everyone else around him, is a tyrant that does NOT have the wisdom from above (Jam 3:13-18). And then he kicked his parents out of the church in the dead of winter, which reflects a man who has very little respect or honour for his own parents (which is a horrible sin, the only commandment given with the promise of longevity of life — "Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)" - Eph 6:2, which promise is found in Ex 20:12, "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.") But if only that was it for ungodly and dishonourable behaviour. There is much more. Sullivant would go on to destroy many more lives, including multiple pastors and even his own parents, all to keep the truth from surfacing and keep himself in the good books of the gullible and simple-minded folks at PVBC. After the grandparents refused to shun their granddaughter, keeping contact with her, taking her out for lunch, etc, and after Big Mike kicked them out of church, they (Mikey, his wifey, and their oldest son Mikey Jr., who is a missionary in Thailand) resorted to sending horrible, disrespectful and libelist emails/letters to her grandparents. Führer Mikey just about choked on his chiclets when his mother wanted to merely look at one of her great-grandchildren's face through a glass storm door!
His actions concerning Laura are pastoral disqualifications, specifically not "patient" and not "one that ruleth well his own house" and not "blameless" or "of good behaviour" and not "apt to teach" and not "having his children in subjection with all gravity" and not"just" and not"holy."
Sullivant and PVBC consistently referred to his daughter as a prodigal, once again revealing that he and they twist and butcher words of God in any fashion they see fit, as long as they can make a story out of it. They do not understand one of the most basic and foundational chapters in all of Scripture (Lk 15), one that continues on from Lk 14:15, and is a very clear testimony by Christ on how a sinner can be born again, and this is very tell-tale. Nothing in the account of the prodigal son has anything to do with Laura. She didn't asked for her inheritance from her father, nor did her father give it to her. She didn't take that inheritance and waste it on sinful, wicked worldly living, because she didn't have any inheritance, nor did she have any intentions on living an ungodly, sinful life. Though she was poor, she was never so poor that she had to eat out of a pigs trough in order to survive. She never finally came to realize that she had so sinned against her father (and against the Heavenly Father) by wasting the inheritance on wicked living. She didn't get saved through the incident (she professes to have a testimony of salvation prior to this incident occurring, though we would question it because of the home she grew up in, the false gospel she has been exposed to her most of her life, and the fact that childhood "salvation" experiences are close to 100% false). Not at any point was Mike Sullivant outside, waiting with open arms to welcome his daughter back into the fold, and then while still far away, ran and threw his arms around her. His pride, rage, love of power and control would never had brought him to such a place of humility and love. The only means of "Family Restoration" Laura has been told, is for her to repent publicly both in writing and before the church, but that would require for her to repent of speaking the truth, and resort to lying to appease the requirements of a corrupt PVBC leadership.
👉🏻 To maintain control over the establishment, a tyrant must have his "yes" men in place, and a cabinet full of dirt prepared for the day of blackmail. Placing his cowardly "yes" men in positions is demanded in order to maintain control over the people. The "yes" men are actively involved in the Führer's dirty work, in destroying the lives of those who will not kowtow to the tyrant and jump when asked to jump, or fall down in "yes" adoration. In the life of the tyrant, it's his way or the highway. Zero dissent is tolerated. There is no such thing as "easy to be entreated" (Jam 3:13-18). You will be put through the tyrants unBiblical "church discipline" program and then your name turned to mud. Many families have gone through unbelievable hardships at this church and other similar IFB churches, and it is our Biblical duty and responsibility to warn others, especially the dumb, poor and needy, of their destructive ways.
"Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy." (Pr 31:8-9)
👉🏻 Lust of filthy lucre. Out of his own mouth we have heard his envy and lust for filthy lucre, which tells us that mammon is his god, and not the true and living God of the Bible. In a message of exclusion, Matt 6:24, Jesus declared you either serve God or mammon, never both. I.e., your nature is one or the other, never both in one individual. You cannot serve God and mammon,
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Sullivant's love of money has been reported by many, including the witness of at least two deacons at PVBC. His infatuation with tithing and FPMG is tied to his love of money. He is actually an extortionist. That is why Missions Conferences are hosted religiously, and Sullivant and his brown shirts preaching at them throughout Canada. These conferences are really extortionist festivals, the type of 'Give me all your money and shut up about it or God won't bless you Conference.' Sullivant and the kind should pay special attention to Christ's condemnatory denunciation of their kind: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess." (Matt 23:25). Love of money is always closely tied to what motivates these men: success. Nothing is too far out of the picture when it comes to a tyrant who loves filthy lucre and a drive for success. Though unable to absolutely verify, ex-members of PVBC have claimed that Manitoba Court archives reveal Führer Mike was sued for failure to pay three years rent in Winkler, Manitoba. Sullivant himself also personally sued a family who attended PVBC and whose son developed a brain injury secondary to a fall at PVBC and had subsequently sued the insurance company of PVBC (which is no different than a car accident, where the insurance company is the one responsible for paying damages), which followed with a countersuit by the father of the nine year old boy against Sullivant. But it was Sullivant who filed the suit firstly against the family personally, which is absolutely wicked, disgusting and shameful, and immediate pastoral disqualification behaviour. But the "tithing" members of the church apparently didn't even know about it, Sullivant craftily kept it from them. Why? Why would he keep that a secret from everyone, if he's such an "honest" and "godly" man? According to the Apostle Paul, Mike Sullivant is a fool, a man without wisdom (1 Cor 6:1-8), which is always an unsaved person (1 Cor 6:9-10):
"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Cor 6:1, 6-10)
But we know Sullivant to be an unsaved false teacher for a lot more reasons than just this side point.
When we was in Sullivant's circles (distant, but also close in some ways), we began to notice what and why things were overlooked. It almost never made any sense, and then it didn’t help to ask about whatever it was. Often it relates to money and keeping the people coming, which is about money too. Bigger coalitions are needed for money. Bigger churches are needed for money. Bigger churches are needed for bigger coalitions. This is what is embraced as success by its participants. After all, John R. Rice 3:16 says small or stagnant churches are a sin. Doctrinal and practical precision suffer for it all to work. It’s actually not difficult to see. What is the worse out of it all is the corruption of the gospel to keep the system breathing, and thus the terrible dishonour to God and the empire built upon a mostly unregenerate people who become mere blind followers of the blind.
This is nothing unusual in the orbit of Jack Hyles. Hyles would talk "jokingly" about prostituting his own wife to raise money for a new auditorium, or scream from his pulpit: "I've got more respect for a pimp than men like you." He announced that if he thought it would help, he would "send my wife up to the South Side of Chicago in a miniskirt and a fur coat in the back seat of a Cadillac" to raise the money. How utterly tasteless is this, even behind the thinly veiled pretest of humour. How does one accord one atom of respect to any man who would sit under that kind of profane and vulgar blasphemy and heresy for decades and say nothing while the victim count mounted by the week?
👉🏻 There's a reason why Sullivant has done so well in the Winkler area, which is made up of Mennonites almost entirely. As a whole, Mennonites are pacifists, very concerned about "looking good,” and avoid conflict like the plague. They are mild-mannered, vulnerable and a easy to be deceived and persuaded people, especially by someone who speaks dogmatically and preaches to monger fear (NOT fear of God—words that never escape Sullivant’s lips, but fear of man, fear of the pastor, fear of leaving PVBC). Statements made by Sullivant such as “If you have a problem with this church, you have a problem with Christ!” are not for naught. It’s a hideous form of bondage, and most Mennonites latch onto it like a blood sucker. For the most part, Mennonites are a simple-minded people which is actually unsaved gullible people who believe every word (Ps. 19:7; 119:130; Pr. 1:22-32; 7:7; 8:5; 9:4,13,16; 14:15,18; Rom. 16:18). They are a people with who "I bear . . . record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." (Rom 10:1-3). This bodes well for recruitment to PVBC, falling right into place with them false professions and easy-believism. We understand these things because we are Mennonite ourselves.
Man-Centred Manipulator, Narcissist Control-Freak and Tyrant, Exalting the Word of the Pastor over the Word of God.
👉🏻 “Pastor” Mike Sullivant D.D., and his side kicks at the man-centered PVBC are man-centred manipulators who will do almost anything to protect their titles, positions and inflow of cash. These are supposed "godly" men but are in fact power mad men who thrive on controlling people. Speaking evil of people is nothing too hard for them, especially if it's required to paint a pleasant picture of self and Sullivant and PVBC, all part of the self-preservation process. We know this personally and also through the testimonies of dozens of others. Ten years ago we learned how horribly man-centered this institution really was, along with most, if not all, of its sister's churches in their 'invisible" denomination, and we turned away from these faith-destroying institutions to a place of warning of them.
👉🏻 Manipulating control-hungry tyrants such as Sullivant have a system that enables complete control, while maintaining freedom from accountability. It is a scripted and predictable recipe of logical fallacies used against those that disagree with Führer Sullivant: (1) The dissenter or "accuser of the brethren" needs to "get right" with God, which happens to be achieved by following exactly what Führer Sullivant believes to be "right," regardless of what Scripture says. (2) The dissenter or "accuser of the brethren" has a root of bitterness in them, and it is Satan that has led them astray. (3) Any disobedience or retaliation by anyone is simply a form of persecution that Führer Sullivant and the PVBC members are experiencing for doing "right," regardless how wrong they are and easily proven. This type of reasoning allows Sullivant complete control, but conveniently frees him from any accountability of his own actions. The amount of power and control that this gives a man-centered tyrant is tremendous.
👉🏻 Many do not dare to disagree or act disloyal towards Sullivant, for fear of being publicly ridiculed or punished or banished for doing so. Remind you of any people in Scripture? Or fear of being yelled at, ridiculed, belittled, and ostracized, which has occurred more often than could be numbered. Sullivant masters at manipulating situations to spin them in his favour and his methods are very harmful to the body of Christ. There are many witnesses to this fact. Many. Dozens of people have commented on this at The Bridge Is Out and Laura Sullivant - My Life Unchained (to read the just of this go to the earlier years of the blog, 2011-12, or use the search function).
The type of philosophy that hangs at PVBC is seen in statements made by previous members:
"It doesn't matter what the Bible says, if pastor says it, it must be true.”
The Bible is not Sullivant’s final authority regardless of protest, but man (i.e. the pastor, leaders, and other pastors) and then money and control. When challenged and tested by Gods Word, pastor Sullivant resists it and rejects it (especially if it comes not from a pastor or someone of reputation in their inner circle — also demonstrating his partiality which contradicts the office of elder who is to “observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality” - 1 Tim. 5:21, in effect invalidating his position), and then to make matters worse, he discredits, lies, marginalizes and vilifies the person with the concerns, so as to wilfully destroy his reputation. This he has done repeatedly, to many, many people, but only tyrant Mikey and the Lord knows the exact number, though his water boys coattail riders may be privy to it as well. This is the work of a Gentile man-controlling tyrant who loves to exercise lordship over those in submission to him (Mk 10:42; Lk 22:25), like the stranger who comes to destroy, steal and kill (Jn. 8:44; 10:10a). Instead of dealing with concerns like the Bible commands, especially for a man in his position, he refuses it, putting himself above reproof and then puts up smoke and mirrors such as telling the person they are living in sin and not “tithing” enough and makes the brash claim they have no right to question him. A classic lord over the fold. He is like our modern day politicians, claiming to be above criticism and transparency and accountability. He is accountable to no one, including the church, who Biblically have equal authority as a congregation, but he rejects it wholesale. He is the final authority in his so called church, even though the Bible gives the congregation as a collective body equal authority (seen throughout the NT, incl. Matt. 18:15-19). One of the qualifications for a pastor is that he has to be “apt to teach” (1 Tim. 3:2; 2 Tim. 2:24). If a man is not apt to teach he is unqualified to pastor. This then means Sullivant is unqualified to pastor, again. Nothing in fact about 2 Tim 2:24-25 reflects “pastor” Mike Sullivant,
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;…”
He is a habitual liar, abuser, control addict, lorder, deceiver and manipulator. Instead of actually showing godliness and humbleness, he defames and threatens those that dare question him, consistently lying, falsely accusing and covering up. Many people from PVBC’s history would testify to these things, but this type of behaviour is really nothing unusual in the Big Boys Club. Nearly every church that is associated with PVBC has these issues. And many have testified to these things, which can be read on blogs online, and here, and by way of video. Many people have been manipulated, controlled, and ousted if they didn't unconditionally surrender to the control of Mike Sullivant. Rarely have issues been dealt with according to scripture (e.g. Matt. 18:15-17). He is dishonest in not actually giving all the details to church members who are voting to either keep or discipline a member of the church and not allowing the accused to speak, like Matt 18:17 commands. Sullivant actually rejects Matt 18:15-17 and the Biblical way of church discipline, according to his own words. Countless families have been torn asunder, with shocking revelations, Sullivant being the instigator of ungodly division. I know of a number personally. This happens so frequently at PVBC, it is the norm not the exception. But is it really any different than about 90% of IFB churches today? Thanks to a corrupted ecclesiology and pastoral practice, which turns pastors into rulers, potentates, and kings, yea more like Popes, many man-centred IFB preachers have ready access to potential victims who are for the most part unsaved and thus simple-minded, gullibly and naively and fully believing whatever the leaders says and does, the blind led by the blind. For the most part, the IFB today function like a denomination. Accountable only to themselves, these predator pastors assault others with impunity. Church members are conditioned to not question the man of God’s behaviour, out of fear of God’s judgment if they do. Much of Sullivant’s preaching is focused around this fear-mongering tactic. It has built him a big church and kept the mostly-lost members in bondage. It’s just another form of dead religion (Jam 2).
In this type of environment, church members become afraid of their own shadow. They effectively become robotic and mechanical parrots, being expected to have a relationship with God through the pastor. Everything must be run through him, making him effectively the mediator between God and man, eerily kin to Roman Catholicism, only in a much more subtle way. In so many ways his position on his authority in the church is very similar to Roman Catholicism; the pastor or priest was the authority of the church and that any challenge to that authority was tantamount to heresy. In effect making themselves the equals of God. In their view, to disagree with their positions was to disagree with God, making themselves clearly the equivalent of God. And then other pastors from other IFB churches in union with Sullivant, will behave in the exact same manner, under the spell and bondage of the invisible IFB denominational church pope in Winkler. You touch the pastor, or any pastor in this circle, you are touching the sacred cow. Even if you try to touch a pastor from a totally different strain of the denomination, all the other pastors are so afraid of losing their positions and prestige and power they will compromise the God's Word to protect themselves and other pastors. This is an abomination to God. They are putting themselves higher than Christ, and just for that they should be rejected, renounced, and disciplined from the church.
It is a fake “believer,” the hypocrite hireling (Matt 23; Jn 10) that can go horribly wrong when given unlimited power, respect, authority and adulation. It is this wicked mentality that brings the false “believer” into his new found position of lord and dictator over men, moving him from goat to wolf and brings the wolf to place himself not only equal to God but actually usurp God’s throne! Who would dare do such blasphemy? Well none other than Mike Sullivant’s master, hero and teacher Jack Hyles, who declared before the congregation of First Baptist Church that on these shoulders (tapping his own shoulders with his finger tips), "Right here. Right here, folks. The spiritual fate of America rests on these two shoulders right here." By now he undoubtedly knows that God was not mocked, slamming into the eternal fires of hell 25 years ago.
But nothing could be too horrible or bad concerning Hyles for Sullivant to separate himself from this wicked wolf in sheep’s clothing and warn of him. How then should one not expect the same totalitarian, autocracy, corruption of pastoral authority? In almost every way, pastor Michael Sullivant has become a mini-Jack Hyles, and thats not a compliment. If you read The Saddest Story We Ever Published! (though we do not agree even for a second that Hyles was a saved man or a true pastor; he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing, which is a dog and pig and that has never ceased being a dog or pig), and are familiar with Sullivant and PVBC, you should see the similarities. If you are not familiar with Sullivant and PVBC, you should have a grasp after reading that saddest story.
👉🏻 An actual spirit of meekness in dealing with conflict or Biblical church discipline doesn't occur, but a corrupted extraBiblical form where people are dealt with a heavy hand and discipline is administered according to Sullivant's personal expectations. This fits into the man-centred, man-worship types of institutions. Matt 18:15-17 has rarely if ever been genuinely applied to personal or church issues in its completion. At will, Sullivant casts out (or forces out) who he will, without considering the process of Matt 18:15-17 or Lk 17:3-4, passages that apparently do not apply to his ministry. Many, many can attest to these things, including this blog where dozens of former PVBC members write. This is unsurprising since Sullivant rejects the principle of this passage (p. 53, Blight of Denominationalism — thrice John Wipf asked him whether Jesus was teaching a principle in this passage, at least once in the presence of another leader at PVBC, and thrice Sullivant denied it, thus rejecting the actual words of God). People that shouldn’t be excommunicated are, and those that should be, are not, none have Matt 18 applied to them. This is how it always flows in unscriptural, tyrannical, man-centred power-hungry, autocratic pulpits. So any reference to "biblical church discipline" by Sullivant or his henchmen,is all just a bunch of malarkey.
There very likely has never been a time where Matt 18:15-17 has ever been applied by these narcissistic tyrants over any matter of doctrinal or practical disagreements. Never, ever would they allow that, because the end of that principle is the entire church judging the situation, and God forbid that autocratic tyrants like Mike Sullivant would ever allow his church to have that kind of authority or power, even though it is 100% commanded in Scripture, even though power and authority in the church is actually equal between pastor and the congregation.
When conflict does arise, God’s Word gives us a clear delineation of not only the spirit in which the matter should be addressed (1 Cor 13, Gal 6:1 – “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted”), but the process as well (Matt 18:15-19 and Lk 17:3-4). To find this anywhere in vast majority of IFB churches is about as rare as hen's teeth.
An important way the Biblical obedience of the leadership of a church is revealed is in how they practice church discipline. Does the pastor do it to protect the church empire itself and its leadership or to obey Gods Word? If they are in fact in the business of obeying Gods Word and bringing Him glory, they will faithfully apply Matt. 18:15-17 and Lk 17:3-4. Not only do they not apply it faithfully at PVBC, they have very likely never applied it at all. Including when their staff evangelist Jacob Giesbracht was cast out of church for confronting Sullivant's leadership tyranny (and not for the Hylesology false repentant-less gospel of easy believism that he promotes around the world--of course not, for it is Sullivant himself that taught him this perverted gospel). This is not just disgraceful but tell-tale. I guess what else could we expect from a pastor who cast out his own mother and father from his church for simply standing up for his daughter whom Sullivant was dealing with treacherously. When Giesbracht confronted Sullivant with serious concerns he had over the leadership, he cast him out. Sullivant did the same with pastor Pete Reimer and many others. Thats not an under-shepherd minister of God but a lord over the sheep. Giesbracht wasn’t cast out for his false gospel (or other wacky and unscriptural doctrines) but because he dared challenge Sullivant. They actually removed him unscripturally, completely skirting Matt. 18:15-17, a passage that has in all likelihood never been applied by this alleged “man of God” and church even once in its entire history. It also speaks volumes to the serious man-controlling and man-centredness of that institution.
👉🏻 Mastery of manipulation. Sullivant claims to be "blameless" over the years of his many scandals, but the facts clearly speak otherwise. In one of his comments at the blog link by the same name, Pete Reimer gives this testimony to Sullivant's "blamelessness" --
"You have never proved to me that you as church leadership are "blameless". Rather every time I came to you alone or with others you said I was lying and told me to stay away from the ones where I got the truth from. You fired anyone who had proof or questioned you with any questionable situations or activities. Time after time I brought proof of my allegations and you refused to hear us out. I brought witnesses and you told them they would have to leave because this was between you and me. You never wanted me to have a witness for anything that took place. You could use Dr Dell for your advantage when needed but when I brought him as proof for my allegations you told him he was not allowed to speak and when He did speak out in my defense and as my proof you told him to leave. I found It very interesting how Dr Dell was such a man of God when it was to back you up but when He spoke out against you He instantly turned into a thief and a man of sin. You get your men to threaten me, defame me and my business, discredit everything I say and try to destroy me. Your hatred towards me and my family has gone on for the past 13 years and now you try to tell me I cant tell my story. I haven't even begun with the MEAT. It's time for you to get the truth out and come clean. My story is way bigger than what will get posted on a blog. Pete Reimer"
In arrogant fashion, Sullivant transgresses 1 Tim 5:21 and Jam 3:14-18,
"Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality." (1 Tim 5:20-21)
👉🏻 Dishonesty, subtle lies and false humility reign supreme and it reflects the truth of 2 Cor 4:2, the behaviour of false ministers who in fact are not genuinely converted – they have not “renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;” nor have they “by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.” (2 Cor 4:2). These descriptors of false ministers of God hit the nail on its head concerning men like Mike Sullivant: dishonest, walking in craftiness, handling the word of God deceitfully.
👉🏻 Mike Sullivant is a narcissist, by textbook definition. He makes everything about himself. Destroying lives is not out of the ordinary, he doesn’t care, he's done it dozens of times, its just another day at the park. He is almost treated like a god by the people at PVBC, who refuse to critically examine him or hold him to biblical standards, and of course that also has roots in the threats of excommunication or character assassination. John Wipf shares on this video when he and his wife resigned their church membership with PVBC (which of course was due to Sullivant's overreaching tyrannical arm), Sullivant went out of his to assassinate Wipf’s character and turn his parents-in-law (also attenders of PVBC) against them, to the point where they wouldn’t even hear his side. Indeed, Mike Sullivant is a narcissist, by textbook definition.
Some of the more unmistakable signs of a “Christian” narcissist are:
Manipulating themselves into a position of power or to maintain that position of power, by lying, manipulating, slandering and deceiving
Feigning empathy
An appearance of servanthood
Feigning insight
Displaying false humility, fakeness, and expectations of robotic obedience
Insincere spirituality
Acts of helpfulness
Exalting themselves as equal to God (often done, in subtle ways like the picture at the forefront of this report taken from PVBC website, and in other ways such as claiming that leaving PVBC is leaving Christ, etc)
Using all of the right terminology without any genuine heart behind it (imposters, counterfeits, is the reason for it)
Very good knowledge of the Bible, but misconstrues, wrests and eisegetically twists scripture for his personal agenda and doctrine
A need to be recognized for what he does in the church
A compulsion to destroy anyone who gets in his way (which he has done innumerable times)
Strong-arming others into serving
Making others feel "less than" him, exalting his position of power (e.g., “touch not the Lord’s anointed“)
The “Christian” narcissist despises and hates to be challenged, criticized, tested, reproved and admonished, which on its own reflects a false teacher who has never been genuinely converted to Christ, thus does not have godly wisdom but rather the wisdom that comes with “bitter envying and strife in your hearts,” and brings about selfish glory and “lies . . . against the truth.” (Jam 3:14). “This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” (Jam 3:15-16). This is the type of “wisdom” that is frequently exhibited by men like Sullivant. True born again believers have no issue with being challenged, criticized, tested, reproved and admonished, if its in truth and sincerity, just like Paul the apostle, who commended those who did this very thing towards him, like the Berean's in Ac 17:11. In 1 Cor 10:15 Paul invokes the wise--saved--men at Corinth, "I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say."
👉🏻 Who would write a college final exam text with questions such as: #1 for 100 points "I like my teacher" True or False; #14 bonus question for 200 points "I love my teacher" True or False, and the last question for bonus marks requiring a short answer: ”Why do I love my teacher so much?” besides a narcissist control freak. The claim is made that Sullivant did this in humour. I say thats a bag of ball wax. To have one question of this manner might constitute humour; but to have not only two but then three, while the third predicates a positive response for the first two, is not humour. What would happen if you marked "false" for the first two? The last question ensures that the first two questions are in the affirmative. This is a good indication of the man-worship, man-controlling, and fear-mongering that takes place in man-centred institutions such as PVBC/CBBC.
👉🏻 Mike Sullivant is a tyrant because he acts like a tyrant. The behaviour of tyrants, who are all narcissists will be expressed when key things occur in their lives, bringing out the underlying character. Tyrant happens to be a very accurate description of “pastor” Mike Sullivant. Dictionaries define “tyrant” as an individual, typically male, who governs oppressively, exercises power or control in a cruel or unreasonable or arbitrary way, one who behaves as a bully, a person who assumes power through self-autocracy; a totalitarian, one who domineers, overbearing, high-handed, and imperious. A priority of tyrannical overlords who are being reproved and criticized or exposed is to find out who the watchman and trumpet blower is, dig up as much evil on him as possible, and then get to work on some serious character assassination and destruction of that individual. This is primary priority for them. It’s not the message and self-examination and humility that takes precedence, but arbitrary and arrogant self-preservation with trumpet blower annihilation. The man-centeredness that runs rank through that thought process, found in majority of cultish/revivalists IFB churches including at PVBC, is disgusting beyond words, and should be an insult to anyone’s cranium. It is repugnant emesis to the core. To be consistent, we hope they make it their life purpose to find out who the Apostle Paul actually was, what his “full name” was, his “church’s name,” his “pastor’s name,” and to whom his ministry was subjected to, for we only have his first name and no name of his “church” or “pastor.” Oh, but he is an apostle. Right, chapter and verse of why that would exclude him but not others? Apostles were not above God’s Word or law, and Paul makes that abundantly clear (e.g., 1 Cor 10:15). We wonder if they also make it their life purpose to find out who the actual writer of the Hebrews letter was, which is penned by an unknown person, no “name,” no “church name” and no “pastor name.” Oh boy, we thinks we hear the gnashing of teeth.
A so-called “pastors” first and foremost concern and priority should ALWAYS be the message! Period. With Punctuations! But we know, to the man-centred man-worshipping tyrannical IFB lord who's about keeping a tight ship, this be like pulling finger nails.
👉🏻 Tithing fits into the this man-centeredness, manipulation, lordship and absolute control over the people, tyrannical, exalting his own word over the Word of God, environment to perfection. Major love of money issues of course as well, but tithing is a means to enforce control by the tyrant. “Tithing” is pounded from the pulpit and floods the brains of men like Sullivant on a daily basis, and given as a red herring that someone is either right or not. If you are tithing you’re right, irregardless of anything else. There are so many examples of this, it would required a book this long. Just ask the hundreds of people that had fled this church, and even the people that remain in it. When Sullivant realizes he has been caught in the wrong, he repeatedly screams "Do you tithe?" Wow, how sick is that. Everything evolves around tithing. Sullivant has frequently claimed (lied) from the pulpit that he does not know how much people “tithe,” even though he does. People that have been involved in handling the offerings coming in, have disclosed how things are not dealt with Biblically or lawfully but corruptly. Churches like PVBC are more about keeping the money flowing and the people coming then bringing glory to God by obedience to Gods Word. “Soul winning” is to bring people into the flock so they in turn can bring more into the church, increasing the size of the church and the money coffers. All this love of money is a major symptom of this disgusting perversion in the IFB movement, but it also serves the purpose of keeping control over the people. Scripture has to be seriously twisted and wrested to ever get to the tithing point. Tithing is done away with the law! The levitical priesthood does not exist (read Heb. 7 and be enlightened, and stop using Abraham as a straw man; Abraham is the father of the Jews. Interpret Heb. 7 in its entirety, not privately interpreting the Scriptures). Demanding Unquestioning Loyalty; Departing PVBC.
No one departs PVBC peacefully, and many depart. Once you've entered PVBC, once you have the brand, you cannot leave without being lied about, ridculed, and then delivered to the train station. It’s the gang mentality of the IFB mafia. Protection of the Profane Pulpit. Pastor Sullivant comes across as a very insecure man who is in constant need of the approval of men and endearing humanistic methods of self-preservation. He’s simply another architect of the tower of Babel, trying to build a movement by politics and make a name for himself, and then maintaining that position at all costs (yes, even his own family). Paul warned, “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Tim. 5:8). Christ is not exalted in these politics, but man. Yes, Sullivant is indeed excessively man-centred and demands unquestioning loyalty to the pastor, to him. He exercises authority over the people like lost Gentiles do, contrary to what Paul wrote what they did, “Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.” (2 Cor. 1:24). Jesus said this is not what saved ministers do, but lost people:
"Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mk. 10:42-45; see also Gal 1:10).
Sullivant's behaviour does not identify with that of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sullivant is a bait and switch grifter, but there is nothing petty about dealing with the eternal souls of man. He has zero respect for the priesthood of believers, even though he claims to be a Baptist, a position that carries more Biblical respect than that of the corrupted “pastor” position that he has created. Does Sullivant really merit the power he has given himself? Absolutely not. A true church of God does not place their power and trust in a mere man hiding behind the pulpit, especially not one that rejects congregational authority, especially not one that rules his church in contradiction to the Lord Jesus Christ and His impeccable standards for morality, personal holiness, and proper pastoral authority built on trust and respecting the Priesthood of the Believer. The congregation has equal power and authority, but dictators and tyrants don’t like that or acquiesce to it, and thus they are rocked repeatedly by scandals, which are swept under the rug. Sadly these tyrants continue in their unscriptural positions of power because of the apathy, ignorance, and misguided biblical expectations of their parishioners, many of which are unregenerate and blind followers of the blind.
A statement that lends to what we write here, heard in one of the last sermons we listened to from by Sullivant:
“If you have a problem with this church, you have a problem with Christ!”
Wow, in one mere sentence he effectively warned anyone that has any gall to criticize him or reprove him or warn him, with walking papers. He also put down the law of unquestioning loyalty.
On a side note, we are not into “survivor groups” and have our reservations about some of the people that leave IFB churches and join these type of groups, but a number do have legit reasons for leaving.
In today’s man-centred autocratic and tyrannical leadership of most “pastors,” almost everything that Paul wrote would be governed exclusively by them. Nearly every instruction given would be overseen by the “pastor,” and he would lay the down law. But that is not what we read in Scripture at all. Paul didn’t go “through the pastor” in dealing with the sins of this church, even though this is how tyrants attempt to exercise the strong arm of their flesh today. For instance, 1 Cor 1:9-10, 5:1-15; 6:1-5, all these issues should have been brought to the attention of the pastor by Paul according to the man-centered and tyrannical manner of ministry by some, not directly addressed by Paul even though he is an apostle. Their argument would be that he has no authority over them. When we read the church epistles, almost no reference is ever given to the office of pastor. The epistles are to the congregation, because that is what the local church is all about, not the pastor.
Exercising Lordship Over the Church like a Gentile Autocrat and Hireling, and Not a Humble Servant of the Shepherd.
👉🏻 Gentiles are masters at lording over the people, seeking to gain lordship over those under their heel, noted in the above passages: Matt 20:25-26; Mk 10:42-43; Lk 22:25-26.
This is Sullivant to precision, though it ought to be far removed from any professing minister of Christ.
👉🏻 Pastors have become gods and high priests in many denominations, there is idolatry going on in high places, and Mike Sullivant and PVBC is not exempt. In many ways, autocratic lords in IFB churches are behaving akin to the position of Father in the Roman Catholic institution. They are not to be questioned, and their every wish is to be a command. Many “pastors” act like if they are the high priest over the professing believers life and faith, including Mike Sullivant, while the born again believers and pastors of the first century did not attempt to exert such a blasphemous level of authority over anyone. They believed that Jesus Christ alone was every true born again believers High Priest (Heb 4:14-16), and they explicitly declared that they did NOT “have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.” (2 Cor 1:24). That was the Apostle Paul, maybe the greatest human missionary that ever walked the planet, and he of all people could have taken advantage of the people and acted the totalitarian autocrat but God forbid he would have ever stooped to the level of such heretical preachers as Mike Sullivant. He was nothing like him, and in all probability, would have labelled Sullivant in the exact same fashion as we have.
If that is your “pastor,” you shouldn’t abide under his tyrannical heel, and come out from among them. You do not have to drink from their drunken, man-worshiping idolatry. They do the circle-the-wagons, close ranks, cowboy-up defence mode, protecting a false gospel, false doctrine, perversion of Scripture, man-centred churches. It looks like their methods and movement are bigger than God to them. But they won't have the last word on the matter; Scripture and wisdom will expose them for the ungodly heretics that they are.
👉🏻 And now for a word of warning and exhortation in this light: secretly RECORD every single conservation that you have with any church leadership. Bar none. This is invaluable advice and will save you a lot of heartache and headache down the road, and also reveal certain things about the men who lead your church. Never, ever make the mistake of considering a church leaders word as good as gold, for many will lie and deceive and double speak without batting an eye. Many times behind closed doors, you shall come to truly understand who the clown is that is running the one-ring circus. After having to suffer too many trials of this nature, roughly ten years ago we started putting this into practice and it is one of the wisest decisions we have ever made in dealing with heretics and tyrants in the local church. Once most meetings are concluded we confess to the leadership that the entire meeting has been recorded, which is perfectly legal as long as you don't publicly publish these recordings without the official permission of the ones present. Many, many issues could have been prevented by the ones who confronted the "man of God" and eventually left or were cast out of PVBC had they undertaken this important tool of technology. Oh boy, what would a tyrant like Sullivant do when his words are recorded and he cannot just deceive and lie and threaten his way out of the innumerable scandals he produces! This is a litmus test as well. You shall very rapidly know whether the so-called leader of a church sitting before you is a humble under-shepherd that fears the Lord, or a proud hireling that fears a man! Everything is recorded with God, so a pitiful little recording shouldn't bring a cold sweat upon a pale brow, the beginnings of a coronary, lest the "man of God" is in fact a charlatan, a hireling, a false teacher.
As the practice of the typical hypocrite, what happens behind closed doors and what happens in front of open doors, contradict one another. There is something seriously wrong in this type of environment. There is certainly no fear of God. They make man and flesh their confidence. One of the biggest issues with man-centered sycophantic charlatans like Mike Sullivant today, which we have alluded to throughout this report, is the absence of a fear of God. He fears man but he doesn’t fear God. People don't fear God because they are unregenerate according to God's Word (Pr 1:7, 20-32; 9:10; 19:23). Without fear of the Lord no man can be saved (Pr 19:23) exemplified by the fact that Paul preached the gospel of salvation to those that feared God (Ac 13:16, 26) as did Peter (Ac 10:2, 22). Fear of the Lord starts prior to salvation (Ac 13:26; Pr 1:20-28) and leads to salvation (Pr 1:29; 8:13), which is to life (Pr 19:23; 8:35), for it is the catalyst to repentance, which without no man can be saved (Mk 1:15; Ac 20:21; 2 Pet 3:9; Lk 5:23-24; 24:44-48). Without fear of the Lord, no man can be saved (2 Ki. 17:35-40; Job 28:28; Ps. 2:11; 9:20; 19:7-10; 22:23; 25:12-14; 33:8, 18-19; 36:1; 60:4; 66:16; 76:11; 85:9-10; 103:11-18; 111:10; 112:1-3; 115:11; 128:1; 145:18-20; 147:11; Pr. 1:7, 20-29; 3:7; 9:10, 16-20; 14:16, 26-27; 15:33; 16:6; 19:23; 22:4; Mal. 3:16–4:3; Matt. 10:28; Lk. 1:50; 3:3-18; 12:4-5; Rom. 3:18; Ac. 13:16, 26; Heb. 12:28; I Pet. 1:14-17; Rev. 11:18; 14:6-7). Sullivant illustrates no fear of God; but saved people fear God (e.g. Ps. 34:7, 9-11; 86:11; 89:7; 130:4; Pr. 28:14; 19:23; 23:17; 2 Cor. 7:1; 1 Pet. 1:17; 2:17) for “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” (Pr 8:13).
👉🏻 Sullivant teaches his tailcoats to first get permission from a pastor of another church to speak to his members. “His members” is about right because it’s not Gods church, but the lording pastors “church.” Some of the people that have been trained by Sullivant and his lording institution promote this wicked man-centred philosophy. It’s almost unbelievable. The concept isn’t found within ten miles of scripture and the despicable idea lends itself to what Scripture warns of, “as being lords over God's heritage,” (1 Pet 1:3). My pastor is not my lord. You do not need his permission to speak to me. He does not have any dominion over me. He exercises no lordship upon me. I think that beats about the most man-centred philosophy I have ever come across. But it lives in Canadian and American IFB churches thanks to men like Sullivant and the late wolf Jack Hyles. It is a recipe for serious disaster and mark of a cult. This has nothing to do with not respecting or revering my pastor, we do that and more, but what Scripture actually teaches about the office and a vehement opposition to an unbiblical IFB mentality of the Good Ole Boys Club. Paul would’ve never entertained such an unscriptural authoritative maneuver, and he was an Apostle! Rather, his attitude was polar opposite: “Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.” (2 Cor 1:24).
The Lord Jesus addressed this carnal philosophy that is only characteristic of unsaved and ungodly power hungry Gentiles.
“But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mk 10:42-45).
👉🏻 Autocratic heretics reject the biblical truth of all true believers holding authority in a NT church. There is pastoral authority and congressional authority in the local church. Congregational authority in fact actually equals that of pastoral authority. They all are equally priests and kings unto God, all of the priesthood of believers. They all are equally ministers of Gods Word and ministers of reconciliation and ambassadors for Christ and workers together with God (2 Cor 5-6). They all are servants of Christ, equally (Gal 1:10). They all have authority. In Mk 13:34 Jesus declares to all saved people: “For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.”
Sullivant has taken the role of an autocrat, while rejecting congregational authority which is as Biblically demanded as pastoral authority. The pastor is not in his own class somewhere above the cattle class. He is not on any type of pedestal. Hew down the pedestal, in the same fashion as the Lords axe is laid to the root of these "pastor" trees (Lk 3:9). Wicked men who love the preeminence of men, the power and the glory, such as Sullivant and many other IFB men in Canada, America and other places, are behaving just like Diotrephes, who was an exemplar of heresy, sowing seeds of apostasy (3 Jn 1:9-11). He was an evil man John says, and John exhorted Gaius to flee from the likes of such men.
Men would be very wise to understand or acknowledge these things, and understand the equality of all members including the pastor in the NT local church, and to understand the congregational authority of the church which is equal to that of the pastor, instead of believing the garbage they have been spoon fed by some man-centred man-worshipping institution like Sullivant’s PVBC and CBBC. But most men are not interested in this clear Biblical truth, because it prevents they from being their own little god, their own little dictator and tyrant, ruling over their little empire. Gentile men lust after power and control, and congregational authority flies right in the face of that.
It’s a serious abuse of pastoral authority, not the philosophy of a lowly and humble under shepherd and servant (which is the VERY job of the true minister of Christ, as Christ makes abundantly clear: Matt 20:25-28; Mk 10:42-45; Lk 22:25-27), but that of an autocrat. Churches with autocrats are established more like an autocracy, which brings the idea of absolutism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, and tyranny. More like politicians pushing and pandering for power behind a podium rather than poor of spirit preacher preaching and persuading in the power of the Spirit behind a pulpit.
Try to find this foreign concept anywhere in Acts or any of the church epistles. Paul didn’t even write to pastors or leaders of church’s but to all the saints of the particular local church. When Jesus gave the pattern in dealing with unrepentant professing brethren in Matt 18:15-20, the pastor is nowhere to be found. Did Jesus make a mistake? When Paul instructed the Corinthian church on what to do with the wicked false believer in their midst found in 1 Cor. 5, to whom was the instruction given? In Acts 15 who is it that confronts the false teachers at Antioch, the pastors or a few of the teachers there (I.e. Paul and Barnabas)? When Paul was converted did he immediately run to pastors at Jerusalem? When the Bible speaks of pastors having rule over the Lords flock, it speaks of not being lords, but ministers, servants, protectors, overseers of things to be done by others are done rightly, establishing order, helping to teach and feed and nourish the Saints in the work of the ministry/ edification/ perfection and bearing order in these matters, being ensamples to the flock, helpers — a concept found rarely in churches today, including the IFB. What we see rather as the status quo, especially in IFB churches, is this lording and unscriptural “authoritative” domineering philosophy. It’s bad and destructive, keeping ungodly and evil lords like Jack Hyles and his disciples, like Mike Sullivant, on their pedestal. Pr 19:27 warns,
“Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.”
Mike Sullivant does not rule as a shepherd but as a lord. An abusive pulpit bully that should not be associated with. Biblical abuse is using the Bible as justification to abuse. The abuse is emotional, psychological, and sometime physical, just like any other abuse. Biblical abuse is just dressed up to "look" right because someone tries to tie a Bible verse to it. Abuse is wrong regardless of what verse you try to use to make it look better. Yelling, belittling, manipulating, deceiving, lying, and so forth, are all symptoms of pastoral abuse, and that, of an autocratic tyrant. 👉🏻 Sullivant is a Hireling. The hireling is soft, a sort of metro-shepherd, who desires to vanish at the possibility of protecting, and instead of recognizing God’s work of protecting, you cast out the one who cared by dealing with error, sin and protection of the sheep. Sullivant does not protect the sheep. Very rare warnings about serious errors or sin, and never about influential false teachers, and never about some being very likely unregenerate. NEVER any sort of exhortation, as is so commonly made in Scripture, to test and examine and judge and prove all things, including your own teachings. Instead of practicing any of these protective measures that the Bible commands and necessitates (e.g Ac 20:28-31), he actually does quite the opposite and encourages people to embrace error. Like how? By all the means given in this report, including the last section on yoking with compromisers and heretics. His hireling behaviour is demonstrated in that he not only doesn’t warn of false shepherds but he actually recruits them and gives them a thumbs up on LinkedIn. A hireling, who is very likely a false shepherd himself, definitely won’t warn of other false shepherds, especially not those who use a King James Version (If you use the KJV, then your about good as gold, who cares right about how the words in the KJV are actually treated). That was noted in his horrible allegiance to and promotion of the false teacher Jack Hyles. A hireling asleep at the entrance to the fold is undiscerning and unaware of the heresy promoted by Hyles, Hutson, Sexton, Pope, Flanders, Keen, etc.
This whole area of Biblical warning and apologetics is one of the areas of major contention for them. They can’t stand us criticizing their hero, regardless how off from the Bible they really are. This sets their britches on fire. Their objective sadly hasn’t been to protect but to endanger and self-preserve when opposition arises. Does Mike Sullivant know Jesus’s voice? So much seems to say otherwise. But His sheep know His voice (Jn 10), which is His Word (1 Jn 2:20-21, 27). His voice is the test, the directive through the door and out of danger. His voice is all about getting into safety. But his direction and behaviour is contrary to His voice.
Not only is Sullivant soft, he is also sentimental. It’s not about the truth or about protecting the sheep, but about nice looking suits, choirs, churches, and pews full of warmers, whether they are saved or not, while the bag of gold and silver makes its way around pews. How sweet it is, we can hear the birds singing in the trees. The reality is; it’s an environment of chaos and fake unity where everyone is blown about by all winds of doctrine, with strange and diverse doctrines. The hireling in his sentimentalism doesn’t take criticism so well. He is constantly defiant to Biblical testing and scrutiny. He can only be positive, which is akin to his philosophy of preaching and protection. It's not really about protecting the sheep but about protecting his pride, job, and “reputation” in the “congregation.” He has never been willing to be confronted at all. He hates it. Thats a huge red flag to the behaviour of a hireling and Gentile exercising lordship. A pastor needs to be tested consistently. If he doesn’t like that, which he clearly doesn’t, he should remove himself from his self-appointed position and find a different career as he brings great reproach to the name of Christ and the truth of Scripture. Most characteristic of the Shepherding of Jesus in the classic shepherd passage of Jn 10 is His leading unto truth and protection. He separates His sheep unto safety away from the possibility of harm. That includes from error and sin and evil. Before they can be taken or injured or killed, He brings them out of their vulnerability to a place of safety. If the threat arises, He stands up to it, even giving His life. Everything he does is completely contrary to the Great Shepherds character, Whom he is to emulate and represent, Whom he professes to be an under-shepherd of. But it’s only profession. He doesn’t protect the sheep. He doesn’t actually even give two cents over the sheep, as hundreds of people have noted in their dealings with him. His only concern is Mike Sullivant, a nice building, money, full pews, his ego and pride, and not being criticized, his belly. Even if it is just sentimentalism. In this he also fulfills Rom 16:17-18, the false teacher who teaches false doctrine who serves not the Lord Jesus Christ but his own belly. How does he win over the simple? By good words and fair speeches. It’s win win for him, but not at the day of judgment.
Hirelings also manipulate and control people for their own personal gain and advantage. Dealing in secrecy, non-transparency, wilfully ignoring and disregarding people, unBiblical silence and ghosting (cold-shouldering, which is an evil practice of “separation”), exercising partiality and respecter of persons, false judging of motives and methods, vendettas agains those that criticize him or don’t kowtow, and intentionally withholding information from people so as to exert some kind of selfish egotistical power and control over them — are all the manipulative and controlling attributes of a hireling. Rom 16:18 indicates that the one guilty of v. 17 has a selfish character, serving his own belly rather than the Lord Jesus Christ. He is more interested in furthering his own cause and will, rather than serving Christ by obedience to His Word.
Pastoral Disqualifying Actions
When a man corrupts one passage of scripture in order to maintain his office, it has a domino effect into almost everything else in Scripture. Truly, a little leaven leaventh the whole lump.
The Apostle Paul in two epistles lists qualifications for the office of the pastor of a church, and though it doesn’t say anything about these being a basis for removal from office, we believe that these lists imply disqualifications not only as a direct implication of them being qualifications, but also in light of other passages, mainly 1 Cor 9:27 and 1 Tim 5:19-20. The implication is that what qualifies a man to be a pastor can also disqualify him. It makes sense. Truth is antithetical. For every right, there is a wrong, for every good, there is a bad, and for every truth, there is an error. Every qualification is also a disqualification. Between 1 Tim 3:2-7 and Titus 1, in the form of a list, they are:
blameless
the husband of one wife
vigilant
sober
of good behaviour
given to hospitality
apt to teach
not given to wine
no striker
not soon angry
not selfwilled
not greedy of filthy lucre
patient
not a brawler
not covetous
one that ruleth well his own house
having his children in subjection with all gravity

have a good report of them which are without
Certain of the qualifications will be violated by everyone. Keeping all of the qualifications perfectly would constitute a sinlessly perfect life, and that is not what they are requiring. A pastor might become angry in a sinful way. He might have his moments lacking love of hospitality. For the most part, the qualifications are habits, characteristics, or a lifestyle. Someone might violate them temporarily and still be qualified. It isn’t that a man participates in one act of self-will, but that he is a self-willed man. Self-willed men can’t be or shouldn’t be pastors. All the qualifications should be taken seriously and considered daily by a pastor. However, if someone were to regularly, as a lifestyle, and without repentance, break one or some or all of these, he might disqualify himself. In this way, the judgment of these qualifications is far more subjective. Men would have to discern a pattern in a man’s life in seeing that he isn’t qualified any longer.
The highlighted ones in the above Biblical list are those that Sullivant breeches, which we know with some certainty, though there could be more. The evidence for it is found in this report, and the other three parts and in the witnesses that have publicly testified, and there are many. Many that have left PVBC will attest to his pastoral disqualifications. Testimony by these people proclaim he's not blameless in the community, he's quick to anger, is greedy of filthy lucre, a reproach to the cause of Christ and not of good behaviour, and its his pride and enablers that are keeping him in the disqualified position. We believe him to also be unjust (never been genuinely converted to Christ) and a teacher of false doctrine.
He would have also been disqualified because of his daughter Laura, who was still living at home when the problems started. But the qualifications in 1 Tim 3 and Ti 1 are not limited merely to the time that the children are in their parents’ house. The qualification is not limited to “young children,” “infants,” or the like; it simply says that the elder’s “children” must be walking in the way of holiness, without any limitation as to age. As long as the elder is a parent and his children are his children—that is, for the entire course of their lives—so long do the requirements of 1 Tim 3:4-5 and Ti 1:6 last, even as in the OT Samuel was responsible when his adult, married sons made themselves vile (1 Sam 3:13). The word employed for “children” in 1 Tim 3 and Ti 1 ("tek'-non"), is employed in Scripture for those who are descended from their parents, without regard to age, and without a limitation to children still at home (cf. Matt 23:37; 27:25; Lk 13:34; 19:44; Rom 9:8; Gal 4:25). It is used in Ac 13:33 for the apostle Paul and for other “men of Israel” (Ac 13:16) for “men and brethren” (Ac 13:26), and even for one who grows up, becomes rich, rules a wealthy household, grows older, and is already dead (Lk 16:25). Furthermore, it is easy to hide the rebellion of children when they are very young and still at home; it is when they are older and their rebellion becomes obvious that parenting failures become public. It is entirely unreasonable to say that as soon as a pastor’s children become rebellious enough to reject his authority, run away from home, and totally give themselves to the world, the requirement of his office to have a godly seed comes to an end—and certainly it is very difficult to argue that a man with such children is “blameless” in his parenting (Ti 1:6-7). This point alone disqualifies pastor Mike Sullivant from his office, and did so 25 years ago. From that time, he has assumed to be a man of God in the office in a position that wasn't biblical or blessed of God.
It appears like pastor Sullivant does not meet the qualifications for pastor (1 Tim. 3:2-3). He is certainly not “blameless” which means to be unrebukable. He has been reproved by many within PVBC congregation but has never repented. There are dozens of reason to reprove and expose him, something we have endeavoured to do with this report. This point alone revokes his office and clearly reveals he is proud and of a haughty spirit and unfit for the position. He is not “of good behaviour,” but abusive, manipulative, mistreating people and extremely dishonest, all of which once again revokes his position; but not just that, also brings his professing of faith further into question. He is most certainly guilty of being “greedy of filthy lucre,” something that in fact governs his whole tenor and ministry (1 Tim. 3:2-3). He is also “soon angry” and “self-willed” and not “temperate” or “holy.”
Of course pastoral qualifications and disqualifications is a sensitive subject. Disqualification means losing your job and maybe your livelihood. If you haven’t been trained or schooled to do anything else, that can be a very tough situation. However, to protect the office of the pastor, pastoral qualifications have to be protected. There must be disqualifications, because the office and the truth of scripture is bigger than any one man.
Conclusion to The Sullivant Report
This report overall was a bit long winded, maybe more like a thesis, but it was necessary, to make our point without leaving any shadow of doubt. There is a lot more that could be written but for now we will leave it with this. None of what has been written is nit-picky. These are not “minor” issues, as if such a thing even exists in Scripture. The clear evidence reflects a corrupted gospel purposefully leaving out the most critical element of repentance and who Christ is, presenting a divided Christ and very possibly even "another Jesus" (2 Cor 11:4), along with an unscriptural Keswick-type sanctification that dovetails with the perverted gospel, his affection and allegiance to the wolf in sheep's clothing Jack Hyles (which on its own proves the point, for no man would associate with a false gospel preaching heretic if he wasn't one himself), and then his duplicity and hireling and lording over the people, etc, are all matters of sin that must be rebuked before all.
“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.” (1 Tim. 5:20)
Why don’t we attempt to correct or admonish rather than expose? Most men that we expose aren’t in the need of correction, but exposure, in line with Rom 16:17 and 2 Tim 3:8-9, among other passages and Biblical examples. Paul did it ten times to ten different men in the two epistles to Timothy. In two short letters, he exposes ten men by name, holding back no punches, being “hyper-critical” of them (an accusation we have received) — he only spoke negative and critical of them and nothing positive. But men what accommodation and toleration, maybe correction, but not exposure. Where in scripture does it say we are to correct the false teacher? Paul didn’t try to correct the ten men named in Timothy’s epistles. He exposed them for their error, just as he had commanded in a number of areas, which happens to also be a process of correction and reproof for the false teacher. Paul’s letters are full of this subject. This is our example and it’s the best one. False teachers are to be marked and avoided (Rom 16:17; 2 Tim 3:8-9). It’s strictly doctrinal and hermeneutics, with very, very few exceptions. As a rule we don’t attack personalities, or personal struggles (even if we are aware of them), we have grace towards these matters, or even personal sins of a pastor are rarely exposed (they should preferably be dealt with at the local church level, for the most part), except where these issues become public. But there is not grace when it comes wilful error and false doctrine, purveyed by men in influential positions. There is zero grace for that, lest they repent of it. Furthermore, Big Boys Club members do not get corrected, especially not by a nobody. Our mission is expose them as the spiritual frauds that they are (Rom 16:17-18; 2 Tim 3:8-9; 2 Jn 1:9-11), so that all may be aware of their dangers, and to ultimately shut their mouths (Ti 1:11), for “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.” (1 Tim 5:20). This is critical and demanded by the Lord, but it’s not happening in 99% of pulpits. There is where we come in. We are contending for the faith as commanded repeatedly in scripture, exposing dangerous error committed by professing Christian’s of influence. The contending is specific and explicitly dealing with public, influential error and sin, the kind we see in scripture with Paul naming ten men and their errors, also exemplified by John and the Lord Jesus Christ. It is commanded and demanded to stop the spread of leaven and perversions of the gospel, and its pleasing our Lord.
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Gal 1:10)
“Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.” (2 Tim 3:8-9)
Of course there are positive things about Michael Sullivant and PVBC, such as their standards on dressing, their pro-King James Bible and anti-modern Bible perversions position, music (mostly), embracing the old paths (in part--not when it comes to salvation or sanctification), stance against some ungodly errors creeping into churches today, and further things could be added, but whether a preacher is Biblical or not is not weighed on a scale of good or bad. All the good a man may teach doesn’t negate or offset the bad, especially not when the bad is about salvation and sanctification and the local church, critical doctrines under great attack today, with salvation also being the very foundation of everything, so it’s critical importance goes without saying. The scale of God's Word weighs only the bad against a person using the measuring scale of Scripture, and in so doing, he is "weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." (Dan 5:27).
“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Dan. 11:32).
We are convinced by the Word of God and examination of their doctrine, fruit, compromise and behaviour, that majority of well known IFB pastors today are nothing less than hypocrites (I.e., lost, false pretenders), and Sullivant is no exception. We do not believe the man to be truly saved. We believe he is a heretic and a false teacher, just like his hero and master Jack Hyles. We believe the evidence for that speaks for itself, despite all his deception and double speak. We believe that anyone that understands and believes the Bible would see the same.

The “Repentance and Faith” in PVBC's Statement of Faith is very weak and shallow, and basically holds no weight.
Many testimonies of supposed conversions are presented to the church with no evidence of repentance or fruit of repentance.
PVBC/CBBC staff, students and missionaries embrace the same corrupted gospel.
Sullivant rejects true Biblical repentance by fact in whom he claims as saved — unrepentant and false “believers.”

Conclusion
The false gospel of Sullivant and PVBC could be summarized as follows:
Messages on gospel/salvation are incredibly shallow and misleading.
No true Biblical repentance preached or expected.
When repentance is mentioned, it is false and not true to God’s Word.
No surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord for salvation.
Rejecting the Lordship of Christ.
Promoting easy believism.
Promoting quick prayerism.
Believing, promoting and practicing false evidence and assurance of salvation.
The same false gospel that Jack Hyles preached, his teacher in ministry.
There is truth in some of what they preach for a gospel at PVBC to a certain degree, but the overall effect is misleading and damaging to souls because what is left out in their presentation of the Gospel almost guarantees many false professions of faith to those who believe it, but also what is corrupted directly in what they do say.
We believe the root cause of the false gospel is unbiblical evangelism based upon unbiblical views on how salvation comes about. The Gospel has been watered down so much and masses of people are accepting and receiving a “Jesus” who is not even the Jesus of the Bible. This un-biblical evangelism that leads to a false Jesus says that repentance is only changing the mind from unbelief to belief; that one only has to accept Jesus as Saviour, with little to nothing said about his Lordship; and that Jesus’ terms of discipleship are only to be addressed to those who have already believed and are born-again.
Salvation is about Lordship. There is no non-Lordship salvation. People need to stop rejecting Lordship like that is some virtue, and in so doing, confuse people in such a way as to make their converts twice the children of hell they once were. I get that some are ignorant, but that is not the case with Sullivant. And those that are inexcusably ignorant, in the process of pushing people away from the Lordship of Christ, they still ravage lost souls. Tied to Sullivant’s false gospel and straw man arguments in support, is his corruption of salvation passages (such as Matt 10:32-39; 16:24-26; Lk 14:25-35; etc) into something post-salvation, like discipleship. That is egregious and a great dangerous error, turning Christ’s evangelism of His own gospel and doctrine of salvation into something about sanctification, when that is very clearly not the case.
What Sullivant presents as salvation, which is intimately connected to the evidence/fruit of salvation, is not true to Scripture, in either case. The absence of true evidence and fruit of salvation while living like the world and in sin or after error, and then assuring such as being truly saved, is very serious and damnable error and reflects on a perverted gospel and misunderstanding of what salvation is and does and the incredible supernatural and glorious nature of it. That is the crux of the issue we believe, and when combined with other grievous error such as no repentance or seriously neglecting repentance or even false repentance (all of which constitutes a false gospel), we see it is indeed a gospel/salvation issue, one of a false gospel, a perverted gospel (Gal 1:6-9), which is "another gospel" (2 Cor 11:4).
The false gospel produces false "converts," and that just might be the purpose for man-centred control-power hungry tyrants. These end up putting on a mask (supplied to them by the big man behind the profaned pulpit) and pretend they are okay, frequently getting “saved” over and over and over again, never actually reaching the finish line. It’s a superficial finish line, exemplified by phantom faith, and no one seems to notice. They are to busy entertaining the goats, not actually discipling them, coddling them, not reproving them, not testing their faith and profession. They are so eager for members and pew fillers and tithers that they care almost nothing for maintaining a regenerate membership, though that is the first mark of a true NT church (Ac 2:41-42). A pastor of an IFB church we once attended in Australia had this for a testimony. He couldn’t count how many times he walked the ole sawdust trail, but never actually finding God, though he feigned ignorance to that. Conspicuously, albeit unsurprisingly, repentance was completely absent in his testimony, as were other important elements of conversion such as surrender and submission with a poor and broken spirit. The whole concept of repentance was absent, and the hireling behind the pulpit did nothing to correct him in the right way. How did it finally end for him? After attempting to get "saved" a dozen times, he looked for assurance of salvation by having faith in faith and facts. ‘Scripture says you are saved so it must be true.’ Scripture actually gives assurance to those who have the evidence of salvation, not to those with intellectual faith in facts. He was never actually genuinely saved, obviously, and now continues on in his false and deceptive state, as a "pastor." Most of this pastors large family have followed in the same false professing footsteps, most worldly, in love with the world and mammon and self, some even gone completely agnostic or atheistic, yet all have a profession of faith, and most, if not all, are treated as "saved." Every one of them has been a Sunday school teacher or children's church teacher. This is not something new or an exception among IFB churches, it is the norm and the rule, especially in churches like PVBC with Sullivant behind the wheel of the sinking ship. It's this very type of ludicrous and hypocritical environment created by men like Sullivant, and it is a major reason for the world of ungodly Gentiles blaspheming the name of God.
Sullivant is guilty, consistently, of transgressing De 4:2,
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
One of the most common methods that someone deceives another, and how the devil deceives, is by omission. By purposefully leaving things out. It’s not always what they say, but what they don’t say, which is more subtle and probably more common than directly stated error. Essentially all deception involves omission, which is why when someone omits critical elements of the gospel or crucial doctrine or certain passage when referring to doctrine, which they do habitually, they are in fact very likely deceiving you, though there are exceptions of ignorance or careless neglect or shameful lack of study. But when it’s a habit, it’s beyond ignorance or neglect. It's wilful, especially in those that should know better (i.e., pastors, evangelists, teachers, long time professing Christians). All liars do this and all false teachers are liars. So when Sullivant teaches the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and that by faith alone we can be saved through Gods grace alone—the heart of the gospel—as much as that all appears correct, and it is, but leaves out Biblical repentance and who Jesus is, also crucial elements of the gospel, he is actually purposefully and subtly deceiving his audience. This is the great danger of false teachers who appear as “ministers of righteousness” while in reality are “deceitful workers” and servants of Satan, who appears as an “angel of light” (2 Cor 11:12-15). Not only what they say, but what they don’t say when they should be saying it, must be carefully and diligently scrutinized.
All of this is precisely inline with what Jack Hyles believed and taught and practiced, hence the thousands of false professing "believers"manifested through that wicked wolf and First Baptist Church, and their College. Michael Sullivant was a disciple of Hyles, and continues to be. This in spite of the truckloads of heresies, false teachings, damnable heresies, and immoral wickedness that flooded Hyles pulpit and heretical church, in spite of Hyles making himself equal with God, reflective in a number of ways, including what he stated from the pulpit on at least one occasion (after tapping his shoulders with his finger tips a number of times, he stated: "Right here. Right here, folks. The spiritual fate of America rests on these two shoulders right here."). Wicked. If a man ("pastor"), won't even contend against something so outlandish, so unBiblical and corrupted and utterly depraved, what would he contend against?!? It hasn't bothered Sullivant even enough to separate.
Hylesology, his own continuation of the perverted and false gospel, the seriously unsound doctrine of sanctification, the horrendous corruption and wresting of Scripture, etc, leads us to say to Sullivant, what Paul told us to say: “Let him be accursed.” (Gal 1:8-9). He preaches a false gospel. Without repentance over these things, especially the false gospel, we do not fellowship with Sullivant or those who fellowship with him.
Part II —
Sullivant and PVBC's Confusing, Unscriptural, and Heretical Keswick/ Deeper Life/ Revivalist-Type Sanctification, which Dovetails with the Corrupted Gospel.
Error in claiming unsaved people to be saved.
Dividing discipleship from salvation, sanctification from justification, so that one can be a Christian but not a disciple, so that one can be indistinguishable from the world.
False Teachings on “carnal Christianity” and “backsliding.”

Sullivant’s teaches and advocates for a form of Christianity that is indiscernible from the world.
Sullivant, and PVBC, corrupts a lot of scripture to support all his distortion of sanctification, and other examples of Keswick/higher life/Revivalist-type sanctification, to manipulate responses from the congregation.
The corrupted sanctification connects at the junction of the false Gospel.
Keswick says that we need something missing or more of something spiritually, Holy Spirit power, a fresh outpouring of the Spirit, something like that, in order to function as a Christian. Biblical Christianity, by Scripture and historically, says that we don’t need anything beyond what we have received at salvation; we just need to yield and obey the Spirit, Whom we already have.
"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:" (2 Pet 1:3)
Rejecting the true gospel (which certainly includes repentance, the Lordship of Christ, surrendering to Christ, etc) and then holding to an unscriptural Keswick-type of sanctification necessitates a change in many other Bible doctrines. Salvation becomes a mere intellectual function of believing in certain facts and typically turning from unbelief to belief. Repentance is perverted, where it essentially becomes synonymous with faith. Salvation and discipleship are separated. Christ’s Offices of Saviour and Lord are separated. Supposedly not all believers change at salvation, so they live the “Christian” life in the flesh and are told to pursue the Victorious-Life, the Crucified-Life. Salvation is confused with sanctification, and lots of salvation passages are manipulated into sanctification, severely wresting the Word of God (2 Pet 3:16-17). Freedom from the penalty of sin and power of sin is separated, as if both don't occur at salvation. Two types of “rests” are taught (misusing Matt 11:28-30 & Heb 3:7–4:11). A person can either abide in Christ or not abide in Christ (corrupting Jn 15), either fruitful or unfruitful, that is consistent; however, only the fruitful are saved in Gods Word (Matt 13:3-23). The heresy of “carnal Christianity” (“lukewarm” and “Laodicean” and “backsliding”) is taught. And to support all of it, loads of Scripture misused, abused and butchered, wrested unto their own destruction (2 Pet 3:16-17).

When Paul said in 1 Tim. 1:3 to "teach no other doctrine,” he wasn't being selective and ranking doctrines or giving allowance to the misinterpretation of Scripture and producing false doctrine, a preacher preaching his own opinion on Biblical matters. He said "no other doctrine." No false doctrine should be allowed in a church but Sullivant doesn’t only allow false doctrine in the church — he is also the instigator behind it, and lots of it.

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Conclusion to The Sullivant Report
We really couldn’t sound the alarm of warning or blow the trumpet loud enough over men like this and we really couldn’t exhort and encourage you enough to flee from these sort of profane preachers and hirelings, that move as charlatans. Some of his teachings are dangerous. His doctrine and practice is corrupted and its not in obedience to God’s Word and His glory that true born again believers pursue without compromise and in humility (Gal. 1:10) but rather the glory of man, the bigness of the institution, the submission and kowtowing to the “man of God,” the earthly empire. It is man-centred, man-worship, hero-worship and narcissism to a degree of depravity. There is also a fine line between a narcissist and a predator. Overall, they produce a very spiritually unhealthy environment, a form of bondage to a man and a system, which includes a false system of sanctification that involves absolute submission to the autocrat. John the Apostle would have exhorted, flee the Diotrephes (3 Jn 1:9-11). Run away from him as fast as possible.
2 Pet 2:1-3 warns of false teachers and how they roll, which fits well into Sullivant and his MO:
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”
Pastor Sullivant has been weighed in the balances and found wanting. Overall, the church and school are deeply man-centred, Keswick-revivalist flavoured and propagators of a corrupted false gospel, unscriptural doctrines, perversion of Scripture and even “damnable heresies” (2 Pet. 2:1), the cause of hundreds and maybe thousands of false professions, and thus made two-fold children of hell more than himself. Gods Word has a lot to say about being trained by men like Michael Sullivant. Instead of sitting at their feet for education, Rom. 16:17 says to mark them and avoid them for such don’t serve our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly (Rom. 16:18). We don’t weigh their good doctrine against their false doctrine on a balance scale nor do we embrace the heresy of eating the meat and spitting out the bones. There is little meat on these bones, and it's been laced with poison.
Overall, the church and school are deeply man-centred, pragmatic, heavily Keswick and revivalist flavoured, Jack Hyles-friendly and yoked, and propagators of a false and perverted gospel, all of which are unscriptural and even “damnable heresies” (2 Pet. 2:1). Gods Word has much to say about associating with men like Mike Sullivant. Instead of being indoctrinated into his errors, Rom. 16:17 says to mark them and avoid them for such don’t serve our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly, for it's his dogmatic appearance and flattery and smooth words that gets the unsuspecting, the simple (Rom. 16:18).
Sullivant and his comrades should repent of the error, false doctrine and perverted gospel that they have been preaching, tolerating and enabling. They also need to repent for the man-centeredness and tyrannical behaviour over congregational members. Unfortunately this has never occurred and probably will never occur. We are not surprised. It would be utterly shocking and dismay if a big-dog big-camp IFB revivalist preacher would actually humble himself before man and God and take responsibility for his errors, sin and heresies and bad practices that he pounds from the pulpit or to the students in the school. That would be a real shocker, but there are some important reasons expounded in this report, especially this last part, why that doesn’t occur and why it will likely never occur.
We pray you will give heed to this, and reconsider your attendance at PVBC/CBBC (1 Tim. 6:3-5; 2 Jn. 1:9-11), to maintain a non-hypocritical and doctrinal/practical consistent testimony. The Biblical pattern is to “hate every false way” (Ps. 119:128) and dissociate from teachers of error.
“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” (Gal. 4:16)
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Rom. 16:17-18)
"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” (2 Jn. 1:9-11)
Paul refers to men such as Sullivant as spiritual reprobates, who “resist the truth” and “of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.” (2 Tim 3:8). What does he say to do with them?
“But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men” (2 Tim 3:9)
What Sullivant is doing fits precisely with what Rom 16:17 warns of:
"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them."
Expose them. Mark them and avoid them (Rom 16:17). Their “mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake” (Ti 1:11), bringing great reproach to the name of Christ.
If you dear reader take Gods Word seriously and heed its many commands and warnings and are dogmatic indeed for what you stand, you will reconsider this pastor and church based upon the factual evidence of what we write here. Ignorance is not bliss. There are a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing out there, and all we are doing is helping to shave away the wool and expose them for who they actually are.
