Evidence of salvation is absolutely critical. The Bible is filled with passages of self examination. Evidence and assurance of ones salvation does not come about from believing what God’s Word says about assurance of salvation or what it says about salvation itself. This would be exercising “faith” in faith. It would also be subjective. True evidence of salvation however is objective and comes with substance. The just live by faith. That’s not a mental assent.
