Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) was an utter apostate and reprobate, yet is celebrated by so-called Christian groups such as evangelicals and Reformed Calvinists (e.g. The Gospel Coalition [TGC]) — If the nation needs to have a holiday that glorifies man in January, why not institute such for the reason of character rather than skin colour, notably one like "Raoul Wallenberg Day," a man who actually had commendable character (vs the reprobate, degenerate and deplorable character of the black King) which should be common sense but it isn't in a world of ungodly reprobates (both moral reprobates: Rom 1:18-32, and spiritual reprobates: 2 Tim 3:8). And guess what, this is in fact a national holiday in Canada, with (surprising) attention given to it by the Prime Minister of Canada.
MLK’s named “holiday” splashes across North American calendars on the third Monday of January annually. America has ten federal holidays, only two of which celebrate “birthdays.” One is the celebration of the Birth of Christ and the other: MLK Day! (Most American's didn't want this, but it was forced upon them.) Even “evangelicals” and the neo-Reformers celebrate him as some great Christian leader, but that is FAR from the truth.
For instance, in 2018 TGC hosted MLK50, celebrating the 50th anniversary of King’s death. The conference theme was Gospel Reflections from the Mountaintop, lauding his life and work as a “great Christian leader,” and calling on “the church” to “reflect on racial unity then and now.” Though the regular conference sessions were bad enough, celebrating MLK the heretical civil rights activist and major wolf in sheep’s clothing is simply astonishing. Christ warned of “false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15) which are corrupt trees producing corrupt fruit, versus the true good tree that produces good fruit (Matt 7:16-20), while TGC lacks discernment to know the difference. This speaks volumes to what they themselves really are (Am 3:3).
The accurate image of MLK Jr. has been reworked, repackaged, and remade into a secular saint by desperate people who can’t argue the issue on his merits but must stoop to manufactured mythology. In 2014, Oliver Stone dropped out of writing and directing the much-anticipated MLK film (source) because the King people in Atlanta rejected his script. They refused to permit the truth to be told since Stone planned to deal with “issues of adultery, conflicts within the movement, and King’s spiritual transformation.” He was worse than that and his "spiritual transformation" was a fake. He was a heretic and an apostate in the very sense of the words. He was also a drunk, serial adulterer, sodomite, and Marxist/Communist. Try to remember that we are not concerned with his race or complexion, so no prejudice here, but his character.
MLK’s statement that a person should be judged by his character not the colour of his skin is a majestic thought. I will do that as I look at King, and I wonder if radical leftists, King worshipers, white liberals, black non-thinkers, media moguls, and others will do the same.
1. MLK’s Heterodox Theology.
King’s greatest issue was his blatant heresy. He was someone that professed "Christianity" but was in fact a modernist who rejected the Word of God, Christianity's sole source for faith and life. He did not believe the OT was a reliable historical record. He rejected the infallibility of Jeremiah, that the Pentateuch was written by Moses and many other teachings and writings of the OT. He espoused the heretical view that the non-canonical books (such as the Apocrypha) were as good or better than the God-inspired books! King, like all other unbelievers, jumped at the opportunity to denounce, deny, and denigrate the Word of God and praise pagan literature instead. His views were made clear while studying at Crozer Theological Seminary.
King also rejected the virgin birth of God the Son. He claimed that the evidence for Christ’s Virgin Birth was “is too shallow to convince any objective thinker.” In the National Observer, Dec. 30, 1963, King said the virgin birth of Christ was “a mythological story” created by the early Christians.
King rejected the deity and Sonship of Christ. He stripped the doctrines of the deity and divine Sonship of Christ, the Virgin Birth and Bodily Resurrection of all literal meaning, saying, “we [could] argue with all degrees of logic that these doctrines are historically and [philosophically] untenable.” In one paper he wrote:
“[A] supernatural plan of salvation, the Trinity, the substitutionary theory of the atonement, and the second coming of Christ are all quite prominent in fundamentalist thinking. Such are the views of the fundamentalist and they reveal that he is oppose[d] to theological adaption to social and cultural change. . . . Amid change all around he is willing to preserve certain ancient ideas even though they are contrary to science.”
He did not believe these undeniable and critical Biblical doctrines but rejected them as superstition because they did not fit his notions of modern science.
King also blatantly rejected the atonement and gospel of Jesus Christ. According to King, Christ didn’t triumph over death, Hell, and the grave, and Christ taking our sins upon Himself on the cross he claimed was “bizarre” and immoral. No, the only one immoral is king, and he was more than just immoral but an Antichrist. King took a scalpel and sought to excise the doctrine of Christ’s resurrection from the Bible and from history.
"I had always been the questioning and precocious type. At the age of 13 I shocked my Sunday School class by denying the bodily resurrection of Jesus. From the age of thirteen on doubts began to spring forth unrelentingly." (Nov 2, 1950).
Later:
“From a literary, historical, and philosophical point of view this doctrine raises many questions. In fact the external evidence for the authenticity of this doctrine is found wanting.”
King is a diabolical liar and is "found wanting" after being weighed in the balance (Dan 5:27).
As to the Second Coming of Christ, Day of Judgment, and resurrection of the body,
The Bible is very very clear that Christ is coming back and that sooner then we think (e.g. Matt 24:30-51; 2 Th 1:7-10; 2:1; 1 Th 4:13-5:10; etc). An element of our repentant faith (Ac 17:30) is to believe in Hia return to judge the world (Ac 17:31), so even just this one point proves MLK was an imposter and counterfeit and a great deceiver who had “the spirit of antichrist” (1 Jn 4:3; 2:22; 2 Jn 1:7) in him.
Of course, naturally, he also rejected hell. In Ebony magazine, Jan 1961, King said:
“I do not believe in hell as a place of a literal burning fire.”
I think I may quite confidently say that today he knows better, his vision is 20/20 concerning hell, since he is in the furnace of fire that God warned all unsaved sinners and wicked people, including King would be cast into (Rev 20:11-15; 21:8, 27; Matt 13:41-42, 47-50; Mk 9:42-48; etc).
The messages he preached fell under the banner of black liberation theology—preaching a form of Christianity that was reworked to apply to physical freedom of the slaves. The central theme of his Christianity was not the Lord Jesus Christ but deliverance of their “Israel” from their slavery in “Egypt,”spiritualizing and perverting doctrine and thousands of passages of Scripture. This is the influence of so many hymns corrupted in this regard as well. In his famous “mountaintop” speech, when he was listing the seminal events of history, he mentioned the Exodus, not Christ’s gospel.
Liberation theology is a secularization of Christianity, using the Bible as a framework and crutch to speak to people’s longing for freedom. It abandons the message of the Bible. Instead of applying the full breath of scriptural to the hearers, it constructs a new theology to appeal to their worldly needs. This fits perfect with King’s denial of fundamental beliefs in the supernatural events scripture records. He didn’t need to believe them if he was just repurposing a few events from scripture to construct his own story of the world. In reality, what MLK was advocating for was Socialism and Communism.
So according to the Bible, King was a blatant false "believer," an imposter, an imitator, and because of his "preacher" status, a wolf in sheep's clothing! He rejected Christ’s deity, His virgin birth, His physical resurrection, His second coming; so according to 2 Jn. 1:9-11, he should not be honoured and no one should “bid him Godspeed.” This alleged Baptist "preacher" never sought to preach the gospel of Christ to the lost so they might be born again, because he was as unregenerate as they were.
2. MLK was Amoral and Wicked.
He lived a wicked philanders life as a serial adulterer. Dr. Ralph Abernathy, a close friend of King’s, admitted as much in his book, “And the Walls Came Tumbling Down,” stating even the night before his assassination, King had committed adultery with multiple women. The consensus among historians is that MLK was repeatedly unfaithful to his wife. He used SCLC funds to pay for liquor and prostitutes for drunken sex parties which sometimes lasted for days. This was normal for Kings tours. Friend and Catholic priest, Richard John Neuhaus, said of King:
“Dr. King was, for all that was great about him, an adulterer, sexual libertine, lecher, and wanton womanizer.”
64,000 pages of FBI eavesdropping data was released to the US Senate and was labeled “obscene” not (yet) classified but sexually-explicit and disturbing in 1977. These FBI records on King are sealed till 2027.
Evidence proves that King had many affairs with various women plus numerous one-night stands with prostitutes and two black columnists revealed that the FBI tapes support the charge that King was into sodomy with his “best friend” Ralph Abernathy. King was also caught running naked after a woman down a Norway hotel hallway during his trip to accept the Nobel Peace Prize!
For those who worship at King’s image, an AP article should be a knockout blow with its heading, “FBI and Abernathy Say King Was a Sex-obsessed ‘Tomcat.’” That was followed by a graphic description of King’s last night on earth.
“The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spent parts of the night before his assassination with two women and then fought physically with a third, according to the memoirs of the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, King’s top aide.”
Preachers are supposed to “fight a good fight” but the immoral King perverted that teaching–in spades.
Assistant Director of the FBI Charles D. Brennan wrote a letter to Senator John P. East of North Carolina stating that King’s activities consisted of “orgiastic and adulterous escapades, some of which indicated that King could be bestial in his sexual abuse of women.” Sometimes these sins are well hidden by wolves, but sometimes they come to light. They certainly came to light out of the evil darkness of MLK. The Bible warns false teachers will be adulterers, even if it is secret and isn't always visible to the public eye:
“Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin” (2 Pet 2:14)
King was also amoral in other ways, embezzling or misapplying substantial amounts of money contributed to the "civil rights" movement.
3. MLK Was a Pathological Liar and Cheat.
Martin Luther King is not actually even his name and it’s not supposed to be a pseudonym either. He was born Michael Louis King and that name was never changed legally. King was a cheat and a thief. It is not a secret that he plagiarized (stole) many words from others for his PhD degree and for other things as well. The NY Times of Oct 11, 1991, page 15, states that on Oct 10th of that year, a committee of researchers at Boston University admitted that,
"There is no question but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation."
However, despite its finding, the committee said that "No thought should be given to the revocation of Dr. King's doctoral degree," and an action the panel said "would serve no purpose." FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover even once said that,
“Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most notorious liar in the country . . . dangerous to the American way of life.” (NY Tribune, Nov 19, 1964).
4. MLK was a Communist/Marxist.
King was a pinko, progressive, and closet Communist. Just a bit of research shows MLK wasn’t only a rank liberal, and apostate concerning the Christian faith but also joined forces with vile communists dedicated to overthrowing the government. He had major associations with avowed members of the Communist Party USA and with many who were members of declared Communist Front organizations. King’s very liberal biographer, David J. Garrow, wrote:
“King privately described himself as a Marxist.”
King’s secretary during the early stage of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, The Rev. Uriah J. Fields wrote,
“King helps to advance Communism. He is surrounded with communists.”
King was known to be a Communist since May of 1962 when King’s name was “placed in Section A . . . tabbed Communist” in the FBI’s files. William Sullivan, Assistant Director of the FBI, concluded at the time that King was “the most dangerous Negro of the future in this nation from the standpoint of communism, the Negro, and national security” and Sullivan was a significant supporter of King! The “inspiration” of MLK’s “dream” has led to millions following a false "peace,” a false "faith" and a false “Jesus," and destruction of the freedoms we cherish.
True converts of Christ however traffic in truth and eschew error in anyone and everyone. Such people do not bow to “sacred cows.” King was certainly no hero but a wolf in sheep's clothing, though he took up the title "Christian" for political and selfish purposes, and is often lauded as a hero among “evangelicals” such as TGC and Mr. Two-Faced Hypocrite Billy Graham. Though MLK called himself a Baptist preacher and Reverend he was in fact a deceiver, ungodly apostate and wolf in sheep’s clothing.
I would encourage you to flee from groups that can’t tell “the difference between the holy and profane,” or “discern between the unclean and the clean” (Ezk 44:23).
Reject "Martin Luther Day" and Celebrate “Raoul Wallenburg Day.”
A much more worthy holiday to be celebrated, if anything, would be “RAOUL WALLENBERG DAY,” aka. “The Angel of Budapest," since, after all, it is an official national holiday in Canada on January 17!
The story of Wallenberg is so incredible, it reads more like a suspense spy novel than real life. But real it is. And remarkable it is. It is the true story of what one man did to save as many Jews as possible from the Nazi Jew killing machine. One is reminded of Jn 15:15,
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
This professing Christian saved thousands of Jews and January 17th of 1945 was the day he disappeared, never to be seen again.
It was discovered later that the Russians had kidnapped and then killed him, thinking he was a CIA spy. Through the help and collaboration of the CIA and the Swedish Embassy and Bank he worked for, and because Sweden was a neutral country in the war, Wallenberg in 1944 opened a Swedish “embassy” in Budapest, and began to save the Jewish community in Hungary. He would provide special protective passes to >4,000 Jewish people. He was able to establish >30 safe houses under Swedish embassy protection to conceal and protect Jewish people. When they were forced to take part in death marches to concentration death camps, Wallenberg many times would personally intervene to rescue as many Jewish people as possible. In the six months he spent in Budapest, he helped save more than 100,000 Hungarian Jews from persecution and sure death, more than any individual, organization or government.
Raoul Wallenburg was named Canada’s first “Honorary Citizen” in 1985, and then the year following, Jan 17th was made a national holiday in his name. He is also an honorary citizen of Israel, the US, Australia and the city of Budapest.
